^I didn't even know that existed. FWIW I've made purchases from the Mac store and never had any issues.

On sale @ Gamesplanet right now is Greedfall for 18.00 and A Plague Tale for 12.00. I think I will finally pick up A Plague Tale for that price.

Additionally Dark Souls III and its season pass are on sale over @ Gamesplanet, I got both together for under 25.00 last night instead of either Greedfall or A Plague Tale.

I missed it when it came out, but I've been eyeing Unity of Command II for a while now and just noticed it on sale on Steam.  Think I might check this out, really looks nice from some reviews I had seen.  Any one enjoying it?

Yes, UoC2 is delightful.  It's the modern successor to Panzer Corps.
A War of a Madman's Making - a text-based war planning and political survival RPG

It makes no difference what men think of war, said the judge.  War endures.  As well ask men what they think of stone.  War was always here.  Before man was, war waited for him.  The ultimate trade awaiting its ultimate practitioner.  That is the way it was and will be.  That way and not some other way.
- Cormac McCarthy, Blood Meridian

If they made nothing but WWII games, I'd be perfectly content.  Hypothetical matchups from alternate history 1980s, asymmetrical US-bashes-some-3rd world guerillas, or minor wars between Upper Bumblescum and outer Kaboomistan hold no appeal for me.

I guess it's sort of nice that the word "tactical" seems to refer to some kind of seriousness during your moments of mental clarity.

Nice, thanks al_infierno. I've been looking for something like SSG's Battles in Normandy/Italy and TOAW but a bit more recent and modern looking.  Don't get me wrong - I like both those series styles and layouts (I adored SSG's design), but some of them were getting kind of finicky to use on Windows10.  Saw some vids on Youtube and UoC2 seems to have a good vibe.

Sir Slash

Big sale over at GOG including all the Might & Magic series. So, which of the Heroes of M&M was the best? And does it stand-up to more modern games of today?
"Take a look at that". Sgt. Wilkerson-- CMBN. His last words after spotting a German tank on the other side of a hedgerow.

I believe 3 was the best of the series, but not certain as it's been a while.
Insert witty comment here.

I've played all of them - but always come back to Heroes of Might & Magic 3.  There are also quite a few add on campaigns for MM3.

The only real drawback of the game is you have to have minions collect troops & materials every single month.  That is sort of mindless and cannot be written into the system.

Since it is turn based, faster/slower machines do not make any difference.

With gog - you can now play this on a very old laptop when you travel.
