Title: Shiloh: around Noon: the Hornets' Nest

  Around Noon, the Army of the Tennessee started counter-attacking.  You can see how they got sucked into defending the Hornets' nest area since they had some success there even
compared to the big attack out to the West with Sherman and McClernand's division.  Close to the Hornet's nest, Stuart's rag-tag fragment of Sherman's division started well -- but of course as Grant
pointed out later, just retreating might have worked better.  Hurliburt's division is getting fatigued after wrecking two Confederate brigades:

  Well, now its 2 pm and I made the mistake of attacking into the Sherman-McClernand counter-attack of the Army of the Tennesse, So I'm going to move all reinforcements up 3 hours so that
the Confederates can attack with their Reserve Corps.  Otherwise no chance of a Hornets' Nest.  The red circle indicates the general area of the historical Hornets' nest where Prentiss' Division was
encircled:
