Unboxing new games

Picked up a copy of King of Tokyo today. It'll hit the table tomorrow afternoon during family game time. I'm pretty excited to see if the kids like it. I suspect they will if for no other reason then getting to roll a bunch of dice.

I didn't know Empire had solo rules. Damn, I might have to take a close look at that- the game looks fantastic.

Here's a video on how to play the solo rules.

The solo rules enemy AI flowcharts read as though they were written by a coder from 1988. Lots of IF...ELSE type cascading statements instead of plain English. It can make it a bit unclear at times if you have to drill down through all the variables past more than a couple subroutines.

CoolStuffInc usually has it for the cheapest price but it looks like they ran out of stock again.

BoardGameGeek's EoTS page has some good clarifications in the forum and there's a link to a bunch of VASSAL tutorials which help to clarify some of the quirkier rules.
