This game looks interesting to me as a break from my usual thinking games. I don't do FPS as I was never good at them. This is non historical troops and tanks blowing each other up from a top angle down view (like I play 3D games anyway).

It is on Desura as an alphafunding project at $4.99

Not sure how I feel about paying to be a tester after all the years of testing for a free game at the end, I'm willing to risk 5 bucks on something that looks reasonably probable of being completed.

it looks awfully like a modern day cannon fodder - are you playing it?

junk2drive

Not yet but I might today. I several people relate to Cannon Fodder and someone said Crimsonland. I don't know either of these.

From the comments it seems pretty playable for an unfinished game.

I have it.  Its very basic.  Fun for about 5 minutes.

Thanks man!
Yeah Cannon Fodder is a game that a lot of people compare Recruits too! Which is a great compliment for us! Great suggestions, a survival mode is on the way! :)

Yea, we want Recruits just to be fun blowing up action shooting and destroying things! Doing cool fun missions and eventually... playing online with your friends! Thanks for helping us out, I hope you like the future updates.

I don't expect a deep war game experience. Lately the job and the hot weather have me drained by the time I get home. I'm looking for a time killer with a subject that interests me.

Dunno how the two compare.  *shrug*

Running with rifles looks a lot better and more polished... Added to wishlist  :)

I've played it single-player and it ran extremely well.  I need to try multi- sometime.

From what I've gathered, most of the current maps take a little time to get back to the action (or cap various bases?) so they look to be adding some smaller maps for multi- so there's less running, more shooting.  It didn't seem to be a problem to me, in single-player, however.

I looked at Running with Rifles and the graphics don't do it for me. Plus Recruits has tanks.

I reinstated my pay pal account from years ago. Unfortunately I had to pay $700 to fix the A/C at home. When it is over 120f / 50c you gotta have it.

Went ahead and got Recruits. Good news is that it has not been so fast that this old man can not keep up. Bad news is hotkeys are for right handed players. Good graphics and animations for a shoot em up game.
