I have a few beta keys for Card Hunter. Who wants some?
I'll take one. I've been waiting on a beta key after signing up recently so this will get me in quicker. :)
Got some PMs in addition to your request, Tent.
I have one left. Who wants it?
What do i do with it if I get it? Never been part of a beta.
Yes Please Mr Blade

This one's rather open as they've been regularly adding a lot of players who simply signed up with their email address. So it's not as testing intensive as a closed beta would be.
This one was easy to get rolling.. just enter your login info and the beta key and you're in. It's like an Early Access public game, so you can do single and multi player in it and they hope that you'll note down & report any bugs you experience while doing them. Since they've been adding large chunks of players lately, I'm sure they're trying to get the multi-player bugs tracked down.
Thanks for the info, Nefaro. Much obliged.
I've also got 3 keys to hand out. PM me if you want one.
Got three keys to send out as well.
Ok, so this game might be addictive......

WTH is this game all about? (If I may be so bold as to ask)

From their website
QuoteCard Hunter is an online collectible card game with some twists:
It's free to play and you can win cards by playing the game.
Search dungeons to find treasure and then equip your loot to build out your decks.
Use your cards to move your characters and battle monsters' decks.
We're taking two great flavours and combining them into something new. Classic fantasy adventuring meets collectible card gaming!
Tired of pressing buttons while grinding away at quests? Card Hunter is all about skill – your skill at deck building and playing your cards. Tired of paying for endless new card sets? Card Hunter lets you win by playing, not by paying.
Its kind of a D&D type card game on your computer. It's free to play and you don't have anything to lose by trying it out .... well other than several hours. ;D
I'd say it's a turn-based fantasy strategy game with a mix of CCG and Minis (cardboard standee actually).
The card game side is what makes it interesting IMO. Each piece of equipment you find and equip on one of your four characters gives him a few certain cards in that character's deck. So not only are you playing move/attack/special order cards to attack during a tactical battle, you're also finding such pieces of equipment-cards as loot after winning each battle (along with the usual xp & level-up).
The artwork has it's own golden or silver age style of pen-paper & tabletop RPGs, down to the standees and map. Cool stuff.
My only concern is how fast they plan to expand all the content, as you're usually just replaying previous "adventures" (series of battle map scenarios) until you level and loot up to meet pre-reqs for the next one. It could use a few more character classes, adventures, equipment, etc in the future to keep things fresh.

Attempting not to get hooked, deciding you'll just give it a try, then realizing you've spent a week playing nothing else, not being able to remember eating anything for that period of time, and wondering if anyone fed the cat...or if that stench is his rotting corpse.
I'll take a beta key if anyone has one left.
Thanks,
Blake

Yeah, that's two of you now.
No.
While you apparently searched through multiple Google pages to try to find someone offering up free keys,
It's still no.
Meanwhile, if anyone actually contributing to this site would like one, let me know.
Ok :( ^^

Ok :( ^^
You
could jump into the forums and be an active participant in a variety of places here, and join the fun - rather than just a drive-by begging ;D
You'll find we're really a pretty nice bunch of folks here who love talking games (and all sorts of other stuff) and not a half-bad place to hang out.

What Brant said. I'm happy to hand out a key to someone who actively participates here (two of them have already gone out to such folk).
And we aren't all about war games...well, obviously. We're talking about Card Hunter here. ;D
Played it til the wee hours of the morning. Kind of reminded me of early D&D. Lots of fun with a cheese factor included ;D Thanks, Artic!

Oh, you thank me NOW. When you're running on no sleep for three days thanks to your new habit, we'll see if you're still feeling thankful. ;D
I have three extra Card Hunter Beta keys. Evidentally they were in a different email of mine than I had expected.
If anyone wants.. say so.

can I play it on a Mac?
I'm very intrigued by this one but might hold out until co-op Multiplayer is installed. A game like this just begs to be played with the same guys with whom I played 1st Edition D&D back in the mid 80s, letting MTV play in the background while we argued about who was the hottest girl in school and we all agonized over whether Michael Jordan would ever overcome the Detroit Pistons...

PM'd!
Just an update here.
Hi there, losers trawling through endless results of key mentions in a sad attempt to get into Card Hunter now. Stop joining this forum and PM'ing me just to try to get my last key. You can't have it. Things like that are for people who actually take the time to join this community.
You, on the other hand, are vermin. Piss off. Your drive-by whinings for a key are pathetic. Go away.
Still have one key for anyone who's a contributing member! ;D
you never said if I can play it on the Mac! :-\

I can't be bothered to find out if your cute little toy computer can play games!
I really don't know if it can or not.
theoretically it can run on a Mac, b/c it's all just browser-based
mind if I score a beta key from someone?

it's working for me - quite a cool little game. thanks AB :)
hate to ask, but anyone got an extra key? I'm going to see about setting up Bayonet Jr on here, b/c I think he'd get a ton of fun out of it.

Yep! I'll PM you one!
Sounds like something I would enjoy as well.
If there is still a spare key laying around, I would appreciate it. :)
thanks Nef!

Thanks, Nef! Hugzz and kisses and all... ;)
Card Hunter goes live on the 12th. I've enjoyed playing it, it's a great game when I just want to jump into something, and sometimes the hour I intended to play turns into two...or three.
Here is the release http://www.cardhunter.com/2013/08/card-hunter-release/ (http://www.cardhunter.com/2013/08/card-hunter-release/)
Also, if you are in the beta and bought "pizza" (game credits), you can spend them all on extra player tokens and you will have all points you have spent credited to your account once it goes live, plus you get to keep the tokens. So essentially it's free player tokens. No need to spend a dime if you don't wanna, but if you do have some points, spend them now because you will get them right back.
Review coming Monday!
I forgot this was officially released.
Wonder how much more content has been added since I last checked it out?
