Yeah, I read that story as well.  Talk about a bizarre episode.  Maybe she was drunk?

I heard she had some kind of sleeping pill she took for the flight, which fueled her flipping out apparently.

An idiopathic reaction. Some folks who take a medication react entirely differently to how most would when given the same thing. Panic and paranoia resulting from what would make others sleepy is actually a classic example.
