Great pics panzereast, I also have a few campaigns in SF2 with F-4s (my favorite) with the Nato fighters addon in 1979 campaign and in Vietnam...I haven't installed the 5.0 latest update yet, I just hope that I can update without having to uninstall the whole mod.

Thanks.  NF5 is a good mod update, however it does require both of the SF2 expansions (not sure if they are a must).  I love flying the F-4 as well, this one is the 86' campaign and the F-4 are outfitted with Mavericks for close air support.

I absolutely love the aesthetic of the human ships in SOTS II.  They are very utilitarian and you can pretty much guess the purpose of each class of ship just by looking at it.  there are a lot of neat little concepts in the game too...just take the weapon test system.  No other game that I'm aware of lets you test your firing arcs, the power of your weapon arrays and strength of your point-defense and armor systems.

I also like the mission based fleet tasking.  Its somewhat annoying that once a mission is successful, the fleet has to first travel back to its home base before being available for new mission orders, but I think realistically, in the vast void of deep space, this is almost how it would have to be done, at least from a logistics and communications perspective.

This game is definitely worth a buy though, if you love these kinds of space games like I do.  I knew from day one, if it was patched and supported, it would definitely be a game worth owning. It will be interesting to see how it improves from here.

Anyway, I will post some more pics tonight.

^Its $29.99 on steam and $29.95 on Gamersgate.  There have been some REALLY cheap sales in the past though...

I see Amazon has some of the hard copies for $7.99.
