Looks like it's starting to straighten itself out...
Howay the lads.

QuoteToday marks one year since Zinedine Zidane was named Real Madrid manager. Since then, he has more trophies (three) than losses (two), and Real Madrid is outscoring opponents by more than a 3-to-1 margin.
When does the MLS season start. I want to get the kids down to a Crew game this year.
MLS plays a summer season from March - September, and playoffs in OCT/NOV.
The Europeans all complain about us playing a schedule that opposite everyone else in the world, until we offer to play them in an exhibition match in February, and give them a choice of location between Toronto, Salt Lake City, Denver, Vancouver, Chicago, Foxborough, and (coming soon!) Minneapolis. Suddenly, they decide that playing a summer season for us isn't such a wacky idea.
the goalkeeper at the 10s mark of this video is one of my son's former teammates and great friends. He used to be my son's backup as GK.
A little bummed that Lincoln bombed out of the FA Cup yesterday to Arsenal. It would've been f'n' awesome to see Lincoln go through as a non-league side, and see Arsene Wenger have to explain that one.
That said, you could clearly see the difference in talent between the sides.
Millwall-Tottenham are on here right now, and so far, there appear to be no casualties in the stands, but they are playing on the North side, and not at Millwall, so that's probably helping keep it a little calmer.

At the rate the Crew are playing right now, if you wait until mid-June you should get some great ticket deals as they try to drum up support for a craptastic team.
Gawd they've looked awful so far this year :-\
it's snowing like crazy at the Minnesota-Atlanta match today. Whoever thought a mid-March game outdoors in Minnesota was a good idea was on drugs.
The manager and assistant manager at Lincoln learnt their trade on football manager - tactics and scouting!
wouldn't surprise me :)
They made 2.5 million in the cup run - 50 times their annual budget!!

That's good business right there.
Plus, a bunch of guys barely above pub league quality got to play at The Emirates stadium. That alone is worth the memories...
Bayonet Jr (#28) shrugging off a defender trying to muscle in on him, and then putting a shot under the goalkeeper for the team's third goal in a 5-1 romp over a previously unbeaten opponent.
This win got them into the final of the tournament, which they won with a PK at the death of the game (winger taken down in the box).

They're both neon green on the outside, and neon orange on the inside. So from across the field it looks like 2 different color shoes, no matter which direction he's running.
You can see the split on his heel in the very first photo.
my bad - only saw pic 3 at the time
good goal though BB

There are very few 'competitive' international ass-kickings out there as bad as the one the US is laying on Honduras tonight...

I gotta talk to you one'a these days about seeing if you've got a connection to get Bayonet Jr a tryout at the academy there :)
So last night Bayonet Jr's team beat their local rival 2-1 to clinch their league for the Spring. They finished unbeaten, only 1 tie, in the highest level of competition in the state (that level is split into East/West to save the parents some driving).
The most-widely used youth soccer rankings have them #4 in the state right now, but they beat 2 of the 3 in front of them in the league over the past 10 days, and they don't play the other one (though we know several kids on that team and there's a chance they meet in the State Cup tournament).
Great season from them all around, and it'll be interesting to see what happens in the end-of-season tournament. They've lost 2 games since September, both in tournaments, and finished top of their league in both Fall and Spring.
