Thanks for your reply Jason.  I've decided to give it a go and try this game out on both my machines.  I'll let you know how I made out.

Nefaro,

I'm in the same boat as you wrt to old tired eyes and pixelated graphics.  The only bad thing is that I do suspect I'll need glasses soon.  I find that after staring at a monitor for an hour or so my long range focus is a tad bit blurry.  After staring at a distant object though for a few seconds my eyes readjust and things are fine again.  Man I hate getting old!!   >:(

Everything Borderlands 2 is 66% off on Steam. No doubt one of the 2 days this weekend will be a Civ V day. Not sure what the other one will be.

^^ I hope not; Civ V was 50% off today on Steam and I finally bought it. I'm going to be ticced if they go to 66% instead.

W8, I am slowly discovering that nice large pixellated graphics are actually easier on my eyes than those little tiny points and fonts on a 1080p screen.  :'(

Is Bioshock Infinite a recommended play?  I really enjoyed the original, but got bored with the second one...

It's been almost universally applauded since its release earlier this year.  Wouldn't be surprised if it gets a bunch of GOTY nominations.

I'm enjoying it immensely - to the point where I have started over because I wasn't really paying attention to the story!

Dude, dude, dude...if a publisher is having a weekend sale with a different daily deal each day, you don't EVER buy something from that publisher until :

1. It gets a daily deal.
2. It's the last day of the sale, and it didn't ever get a daily deal.

I almost guarantee that tomorrow is Civ V day.

Someone convince me to buy BioShock and BioShock 2 for $10 total on Steam. Seems like a good deal (I could add BioShock Infinite for another $14 too). I've never played any BioShock title before but am tempted. The only thing about it that's making me not pull the trigger is it looks rather...odd. Maybe that's a bonus, I just can't tell from the reviews I've seen.

Well I can't speak for Bioshock 2, but the first game is a modern masterpiece.  Without spoiling anything...It has a genuinely brilliant story, a setting both beautiful and disturbing, enemies that are far more interesting than average, excellent gunplay, moral choices...the list goes on.  It's the best FPS I have ever played.  If you have even a passing interest in shooters that aren't Call of Duty, you owe it to yourself to buy Bioshock.

I really loved Bioshock.  Bioshock 2 was good.  I just picked up Bioshock Infinite on Steam too.  Downloading now.  I've had an itch to shoot up some shiznit and this should do the trick nicely.

Thanks, gents. Good enough for me, I'll give them a shot.

You won't regret it.  I've played Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite and was absolutely captivated by the story line, great character development, and fairly easy to understand and play gameplay in both games.  (I have Bioshock 2 but haven't fired it up yet)

Infinite really left a mark on my brain for sure with it's brilliant ending.

Just played about 20 minutes of Bioshock 1, and all I can say is, holy crap.
