A present from GoG.comSid Meiers Alpha Centauri now includes the Alien Crossfire expansion for free for new and old buyers.  And a few more freebies for some other EA games...

Because we like you so, we have a gift for you.

A while back, we started to sell EA games--great classics such as Wing Commander, Privateer, and Alpha Centauri. A few people--just a few!--noted that we didn't have the expansions and that made them sad panda.

Well, panda, be sad no more! As a holiday gift from us to you, we're bringing everyone who bought (or buys in the future!) the expansions for Wing Commander 1 + 2, Wing Commander Privateer, and Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri for you today! These expansions are free updates, so just download the new installers for each game from your account and start playing now! Note that these EA games will not be part of any Daily Deal bundle, so go ahead and pick them up now for only $2.99 each.

The expansions are:
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri--Sid Meier's Alien Crossfire.
Sid Meier's Alien Crossfire brings you seven new factions (two that are non-human), new technologies, new facilities, new secret projects, new alien life forms, new unit special abilities, new victory conditions (including the new "Progenitor Victory") and several additional concepts and strategies, making it a "must-have" expansion for the award-winning game.

Wing Commander 1 + 2--Wing Commander: The Secret Missions, Wing Commander: The Secret Missions 2 Crusade, Wing Commander II: Special Operations 1, Wing Commander II: Special Operations 2.
The Wing Commander expansions bring new missions, new ships, a new storyline, and an increase in difficulty in The Secret Missions, and in Secret Missions 2: Crusade, we see a whole new alien race, a new challenge, and a mysterious defection all raising the stakes of both the game's storytelling and its combat. In Wing Commander II: Special Operations 1 we see a layered web of deceit, lies, betrayal, and action all bringing that trademarked Wing Commander cinematic feel, while Special Operations 2 sees the player ambushed while escorting a traitor, and soon the player (as Col. Blair) will find himself undertaking one of his most dangerous missions of all: an undercover one infiltrating the very traitors he was escorting in the first place!

Wing Commander Privateer--Privateer Righteous Fire.
Finally, in Righteous Fire the player squares off against a crazy fundamentalist sect called the Retros as the open-ended space sim world's story continues with more action, ships, and missions to keep player occupied for hours.

A special thanks goes out to Paul Barnett and Jeff Skalski at Mythic (@MythicNews) for their help getting these add-ons secured (finally!) and available to you. :)

A bunch of the Ironclads games are like $2.50 at Amazon right now. I just popped for one since I've wanted to play this for a long time and a couple of bucks was too cheap to resist: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0041HZ346/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=grogheads-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0041HZ346

Well Webroot decided there were at least three viruses in the download and tore them out. :/

Actually, after that the game ran fine. Not sure what it gobbled up, but the game ran fine last night.

Now I've got to get used to saga-long games. I had no idea they were this drawn out.

Although not necessarily a sale site, I found this place today where you can buy cheap CD/Steam Keys for a variety of games.  I can't completely vouch for this site yet since today is the first day I bought something, so up to each person to make their decision.  However, after reading the site material and a few other places, it seems like it is just a site that pulls together a wide variety of other sites and helps you find the cheapest prices.  It seems legal but again I don't have enough experience with it yet.  Their support was excellent since I had a ton of questions.  Every time I sent them an email with my questions, within five minutes I received a response.

Today I purchased Far Cry 3 for just $23.  They sent me a link to UBI to download the software and provided me with a key......right now I am in the process of downloading so hopefully when I go to register the game it won't give me problems:)  It should be complete within the next 1-2 hours and I will let you know if I have any problems.

Download, Install, and Activation went through just fine....not bad paying $23 for a game released two weeks ago.

Not sure if this has been posted yet but the entire WH40K Dawn of War II franchise and all DLC is on sale right now at Steam for...9.99. That seems insanely low.

GetGamesGo has some deals going.  Here are a few of them.

Anno 1404: Gold Edition   $6.24    DRM: Keycode activation
Carrier Command: Gaea Mission   $25   DRM: Keycode activation
Revolution Under Siege   $7.49    DRM: Keycode activation
Rise of Prussia   $7.49    DRM: Keycode activation
Sniper Elite V2: High Command Edition   $12.50      DRM: Steam key
XCOM: Enemy Unknown    $25    DRM: Steam key

I'm tempted by Carrier Command, but think I'm going to hold out for a better deal on Steam (hopefully)...

Same here.  I'm down to the last of my sale funds now, and I'm holding out for Carrier Command to hopefully be on a daily sale.  If it goes to at least 50% off I can probably grab it.
