Coming from Matrix-litherine! Man they're really leveling up their production quality in the past few years! Selling on Steam (and other platforms) appears to have worked gangbusters for them.
It is real time, so a no-go for me.

Aw come on guys. Do you want to live forever?
While not all RTS games are the same, most of them are click-fests. I may not want to live forever, but I want to outlast me fingers. :buck2:
I don't find RTS or shooter games to be relaxing.

Starship Troopers - Terran Command | Gameplay Reveal [starts at 5pm GMT]
I think it looks pretty cool.
Me too and I am not even a huge Starship Troopers fan.
I would have loved a turn-based remake of the old Avalon Hill boardgame, based on the novel. I think I still have the copy around somewhere.

I'm intrigued. It honestly looks like a pretty simple RTS, but maybe that will be perfect for a Starship Troopers game that is based on the movie. Could just be a lot of fun to sit back and blast away hordes of bugs, or get overrun by them. Not sure if I'll pick this up on release, but I'll likely try it at some point. Sometimes more casual games with a specific theme/flavor can be a nice change of pace and a lot of fun.

Try the demo of Starship Troopers - Terran Command on October 1st
The demo will contain two scenarios, including "Peace of Mine." This is an early scenario that already features most of the game's key mechanics: players will deploy the Mobile Infantry to defend a central outpost, which will serve as the staging point to reactivate mining facilities and clear out all bugs nests in the surrounding area.
The Starship Troopers - Terran Command demo will be freely available on Steam from Friday, October 1st at 5 PM GMT to Thursday, October 7th at 5 PM GMT.
:D Looks pretty slick. Have to say the whole Matrix presentation is very professional. They have come a long way.
Video of action shows they did not implement friendly fire. The guys out front were immune. And the bugs don't seem to moe nearly fast enough. Have find the movie and rewatch the shower fight scenes.

Got to say - the demo hasn't overwhelmed me. Very weak sound ... and less than visceral.

Personally, I would like a game based on the Heinlein book. Jump troops with flamethrowers and nuclear missiles. However, the bugs in the movie series were great.
Good use of the IP in terms of presentation and UI. Gameplay though? Meh.
It has potential to be fun and addictive, but it would need some work to get there and I'm not sure they'll make it.
Based on what most of you are saying, maybe this thread should have been named "So what if the Order of Battle devs made a STARSHIP TROOPERS game?" :-"
Amazing what a little comma can do to the meaning of a sentence.

Well played bobarossa..... :notworthy:
I've been quite enjoying it. I agree the sound is very weak, though. With at least five months until release, hopefully this is an area that could still be improved upon.
I actually really enjoyed the demo. But am really bummed about there being no multiplayer in an RTS game still. This title reminds me of command and conquer way back in the day.
