100% agree Boggit.

The PBEM scene is one I only started a couple of months ago via The Wargaming Society and The Blitz forum and it has been the most enjoyable experience I have had in over 40 years of wargaming...so much so I am playing nothing else !
My record of success is hardly inspiring but it matters not :)

The sale has been noted and Republican Bayonets on the Rhine and either Bautzen or 1814 beckon....

Good games and excellent for PBEM. :)
I really have to try that sometime as I feel the AI is quite lacking. Too busy with other games though. Which is the best place to go for setting games up for a novice?

The Blitz is good but if you want I've got most of the games and would be glad to show you the ropes. Done it for lots of folks before

Thank you  :bd:
There are a number of games I'm thinking about for the sale, so I'll drop you a line if I want to start a game. IIRC there was some news a while back that the Pz Campaign games would get an update to the new graphics engine. I hope that is still the case because the icons make my eyes hurt on the closest zoom level.

For anyone interested the impressive looking new Scheldt 44 game is due out on 13th November  according to Wargame Design Studio who are working with John Tiller Simulations......... (won't be on sale in Decenmber though obviously)

<:-)  Looking forward to Scheldt although I don't play much Tiller these days.
A War of a Madman's Making - a text-based war planning and political survival RPG

It makes no difference what men think of war, said the judge.  War endures.  As well ask men what they think of stone.  War was always here.  Before man was, war waited for him.  The ultimate trade awaiting its ultimate practitioner.  That is the way it was and will be.  That way and not some other way.
- Cormac McCarthy, Blood Meridian

If they made nothing but WWII games, I'd be perfectly content.  Hypothetical matchups from alternate history 1980s, asymmetrical US-bashes-some-3rd world guerillas, or minor wars between Upper Bumblescum and outer Kaboomistan hold no appeal for me.

I guess it's sort of nice that the word "tactical" seems to refer to some kind of seriousness during your moments of mental clarity.

Wasn't going to get Scheldt, but the fact it has an updated Market Garden scenario and some variants may push me over the edge. I am looking forward to them porting over the new zoom level to the other PC games.

I don't buy all the wargames I want, I just buy more than I need.

I was an active member of the Blitz many years ago, and my experience was they were a VERY good club for PBEM. It sounds like they have maintained their standards!

I'm really glad you are enjoying yourself with the games.

I have been playing Nelmsm for quite a while now on various Squad Battles scenarios and they are great fun too... and of course Mark is a great opponent to play as well. O0
