You're old enough to remember the Lich, aren't you?  Used to do the, 'Band In Demand,' weeknights and whoever won got like an hour of nonstop tunes.  I heard a lot of RUSH, AC/DC, Zeppelin, Hendrix, Allman Brothers, et al that I never hear on the radio now.  Of course, that was a lot closer to when they were recording and releasing those tunes, but, still...

And then Sunday nights on WHCN, it was the Comedy Hour at 9 followed by Dr. Demento until midnight.  FUCK YEAH!!  AWESOME times!!!

Yeah, I remember Lich and Mike Lapitino, along with Stoneman, and Smith&Barber later on. AFA programs, I'm sure you can recall the 'Floyd Void' and the 'Dead Zone' as well. The two other AOR stations, WCCC and WHCN have really fallen far. WHCN went from being 'The Rock' to 'the River', playing mostly pop hits, and WCCC just got sold to a Christian Broadcast Megacorp. it's last day of broadcasting Rock&Roll was last year, on the day before my birthday.

I never realized, until recently, how much of what makes Oldies stations today was all being released as I was growing up.  I just thought great music had always existed ;)

CCC carried Howard Stern in the early days.  It was my dad what got me into it.  Lesbian Dial A Date was my fav.

^^ Fortunately, everything tastes like chicken.

(Except the chicken. Which tastes like fish. Hobbit 1 troll joke.  ::) )

Incidentally, that is almost certainly supposed to be the Brave and the Bold version of Aquaman. Who is silly-awesome.
