This game appears to be the new hotness after SU&SD published a glowing review about it.  A War of Whispers quickly shot up to #1 on BGG, and now sits at #2.

I downloaded the Tabletop Simulator workshop module for this and gave it a spin.  I have to say it really seems like a great system, though I only fiddled around in solo and haven't played a proper game yet.  Can't wait to see some expansions.

If anyone is interested in giving this a spin over TTS, give me a shout and I'd be happy to set something up.
A War of a Madman's Making - a text-based war planning and political survival RPG

It makes no difference what men think of war, said the judge.  War endures.  As well ask men what they think of stone.  War was always here.  Before man was, war waited for him.  The ultimate trade awaiting its ultimate practitioner.  That is the way it was and will be.  That way and not some other way.

If they made nothing but WWII games, I'd be perfectly content.  Hypothetical matchups from alternate history 1980s, asymmetrical US-bashes-some-3rd world guerillas, or minor wars between Upper Bumblescum and outer Kaboomistan hold no appeal for me.

I guess it's sort of nice that the word "tactical" seems to refer to some kind of seriousness during your moments of mental clarity.

Considering how much i enjoy boardgaming (and don't get to partake much) I really need to get TTS.
Insert witty comment here.

^ Once you get used to the controls it's absolutely worth it.  In addition to being a great way to play games with people online, it's fantastic for demoing games you've never tried before committing to buying them.  The Workshop community is very active with creating modules for games, old and new.
