Did you remember to install the patch to 3.4?  I'm not using the 3.5 Beta as it is known to be buggy.  In any case here is the install procedure:

1. First download ACW 3.4, then the ACW Music files, then the 3.4 patch
2. Run the ACW 3.4 executable, it takes a while so let it finish
3. Run the ACW Music files executable and let it finish
4. Unzip the patch and dump the files into the appropriate game folder.  I can provide a screenshot when I get home if you are not sure where to place the patch files.  You have to install the patch manually and that might be a source of problems if not done right
5. You should now login into Steam with your account but do not run ETW.  Just log in.
6. Execute the ACW exe where you will see a window popup.
7. Select the Wilderness map from the top menu dropdown.  Sorry I can't remember which dropdown gives you the map options.  I can check when I get home.
8. Then double click on either the US or the CS icon in the main body of that ACW popup window.  The first time you do this you will notice some files being moved and copied around, let the script finish.  After about 3 or 4 minutes ETW will begin loading.
9. You can now select new campaign and select the same side you double clicked on in step 8.

Thanks for posting the W8. Didn't realize I had to have Steam closed the first time I installed it. Does on the short campaign work? I noticed when I tried to choose the long campaign option thye game sends me back to the main screen.

^It should work.  I selected the long campaign in my current game and have had no issues.  You are correct about Steam needing to be off during the install process.  To play the game however did you remember to log into Steam first and then execute the ACW exe?

There is a mod that extends the Shogun 2TW time limits.  IIRC, there's even one or more in the Steam workshop for it so should be as easy as clicking on it in Steam and enabling it when you start a game.

Time limits suck - they aren't fun in most games.  They're often used in strategy games to make up for poor AI not being able to build & plan well in the long run but I think S2TW can do fine for a bit longer than they give it.

As for me, I welcome the time limits because I don't really have a lot of time. :)

Ah thanks nef - I didn't know mods were stored on steam - how do I find those?

There should be a link on the game's Library page for "Steam Workshop".  Then you can browse/search the various mods there.

The Steam Workshop is one of their better ideas, obviously adopted from Desura's earlier mod support in their own client (along with carrying more indie titles).

sweet - didnt know - ill finish my current campaign and then mod a no limit on and then try as another clan before boosting up to FOTS just in time for Rome II

Nice screenies!  ;D

WALB is such a fun game.  Too bad I'm not very good at it.

Jarhead0331

Definitely some great screen captures of Wargame: ALB.  Love the screens which show the release of ordnance and deflection shooting from the AAA.  Are those taken while in a cinematic mode?  I think I've seen an option for one.

Nef, I'm pretty bad at the game too, but the fabulous OOB keeps me coming back for more.

Awesome screenshots.

I really need to spend some more time with WALB. I love the game but I'm a really horrible RTS player. When the AI can beat the crap out of me on medium difficulty, I'm afraid to find out what a real player would do to me.

Yes took those shots while watching a replay, you have the ability to slow down the camera, pause, and hide the HUD.

I am getting my behind handed to me in the campaigns, but I can usually hold on against the AI in skirmish on medium and eek out a win.

Didn't know you could hide the UI during a replay. I'm assuming you can move the camera around freely as well instead of following a specific players camera.
