Me, at the end of another game of Orcs Must Die! 2

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

^Every time I log onto STEAM you are playing that game. :)

Heh. It's been paused. I'm helping the DirecTV guys set up the last stages of the satellite. Then I'll get back to it.

Well I guess the first step is admitting  you have a problem.

Actually the amounts may be large but the money can be used up pretty quickly for a big empire with several colonies expanding their own economies and a massive ship building program to defend your borders.

BTW, those nasty Yoo Hoons didn't even honor the defense pact when I was attacked by the space crabs.

I have no idea what people see in this set of sims - I really don't.

The graphics are from the 90s, the gameplay isn't great and the flight model is pretty rubbish

I'd be interested in what keeps you playing it...accessibility? The ease of the gameplay?

I "re-bought" Strike Fighters 2 and/or Vietnam a while back when I read a book about an F105 pilots experience in Vietnam (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/0891418547/ref=wms_ohs_product) and loved the book and wanted to fly some F105s - but I was out of it within a day...I really found nothing in it.

Actually simplicity is the selling point of Strike Fighters.  You can just hop into any plane and do your thing.  It's not a study sim like DCS.  Flight dymamics are not arcade.  They are quite realistic and you need real-world tactics to succeed.  Focus is on the combat and not on the operation of the aircraft.

Gameplay-wise, it has a random / semi-dynamic campaign engine that none of the modern sims have.

Graphics is scalable so if you have a more modern machine, you can take advantage of Dx10 rendering.  Below are my screens of the same game series that Oche is playing.

But I have lost some interest in the game lately and Thirdwire's attitude is not helping.  TK does not want to make things more realistic and wants to simplify things more.  Thus we now have Strike Fighters Android.   ???
