My problem is I know I'm turning 45 at the end of the summer, but I feel nothing like 45. I'm still an odd kid with a very immature sense of humor. I would build and play around with Legos if I could. I enjoy Spongebob Squarepants at times. I would play the hell out of an RPG if I could find a local group of like-minded adults. I would race remote control cars and build models if I could. (I can't because I have a spouse that has little tolerance for such things. Funny how THEY change, too...)

The only place where I actually feel I'm getting old is the spot where my tolerance of younger people gets incrementally thinner and thinner as time passes. The whole "whatever" attitude and general lack of empathy and ambition is starting to frost my shorts. But - I know this is just how it's ALWAYS been between older and younger generations.

See? SEE? Using language like "frost my shorts" isn't a good sign, either. :(

I'm pretty sure 95% of you are pretty much the same way.

Exactly. You have to grow old, but don't have to grow up!

I'll be 49 in about a month. And I'm finally old enough to buy all the games I want....  :P

Yipes!! I felt quite old reading that list as mostly all of it had little or no resonance for me.

I grew up with greeny stick-em cap guns, those rubbery/plastic soldiers that you had to put little silver plastic guns, helmets, and belts on, pea shooters, and of course, warriors of the world by Marx! I also liked Captain Kangaroo.

sigh...I turned forty-freaking-nine this month and I was diagnosed with Celiac disease (can't eat wheat / gluten).  You know what I am going to miss?  BEER!  I can't freakin' drink real beer anymore.  No more Guiness, Innes & Gunn, Harp, Boddingtons...not even a crappy Coors or Budweiser.
That's why I am feeling old...

Jack, I just want you to know that suicide IS an option.   8)

(I am, of course, kidding.  Well, sort of...)

Toonces - Don't ask me, I just close my eyes and take it.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

Banzai Cat - There is no "partial credit" in grammar. Like anal sex. It's either in, or it's not.

Mirth - We learned long ago that they key isn't to outrun Star, it's to outrun Gus.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

Gus - Celery is vile and has no reason to exist. Like underwear on Star.

What's your problem? That all sounds pretty normal to me ;)

I'm 38 and I didn't "get" or understand half of these.  A lot of it seemed like stuff for nerds and the age range for it doesn't make sense. (he wants to marry Christie Brinkley but is young enough to play with Jurassic Park toys?!)So I'm asking you forum members, since many of you seem  like geeks to me, did you get it? (I'd put a shite eating grin face here but I don't know how)

What's the story with #1? I seriously would like an answer, please.

I never used or played with or saw the following #'s   1,3,5,6,7,8, 10- I had to be around 18 when I first had an Altoid, and they only had mint at the time! 11,13,15,16,18,21,23,27,30,31,33,35,36,37,38-I always had to check in at around noon/one-ish. That was a major rule which I unfortunately violated several times because the war/baseball game was too good!

What age range is this supposed to be for? The only thing I liked was the "make-out" tape and again like the Altoids, I was not really a kid when I had one. This list blows

I'm sure I'm not the only one who would appreciate it. Thank you.

No new Disney VHS releases. Not for a long time. The plastic cases have a very distinctive smell. That's all.

I wasn't a kid when those came out but my kids were kids then so I get that one.

I guess VHS tapes have a smell?  Kind of like new car smell?  And seeing as they don't make VHS tapes any more, something you won't experience any more.

I don't think the cassettes actually had the "smell" as I was still getting VHS tapes well into the late 90's.(ok so it was porn) As Staggerwing posted, it is the smell from the plastic Disney VHS boxes that had the distinct , although apparently pleasurable oder. I'm guessing it was comparable to the fresh copies from your grammar school printer. Now that was a little bit of heaven I will never smell again
