Title: Ashes: Rise Of The Phoenixborn
Post by: Nefaro on October 09, 2015, 07:17:39 PM
Been grokking the pre-release hype about this head-to-head card game, and it just started shipping to retailers.

At first, Ashes (http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/167400/ashes-rise-phoenixborn) looks like some MtG clone in LCG format, with some small mechanical additions such as resource dice.  But the more I see of it, the more I dig the different mechanics (and, of course, not being of the "Collectible" type).  Having to manage the casting resources from your dice pools looks like a lot of fun.

Then I watched Marco's video review (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOmoc1bVquA).  We all know how this ended.  With me pre-ordering it from CSI.  I think Rodney did some 'Watch It Played' vids on it too.

I know Plaid Hat has shown it off at more than one Con this year.  Anyone happen to check it out?  I believe there is a tentative Tabletop Simulator module for it.. not sure about a Vassal one, haven't checked yet.
