it's a rough diamond in the rough!

Isn't the second rough redundant?  >:D

In this case, nooooooooo.  :buck2:

The slough of roughs is not redundant enough in giving guff.

Commander: The Great War on Steam.  Nice game.  At only $10, I don't regret the purchase in the slightest.  With the PotzBlitz Mod as an essential add-on, I can foresee myself continuing to, you know, actually play CTGW.

I have had my eyes on that game for quite some time as I have no good WWI game. Do I need to know much about WWI to enjoy it? How complex is it? How about the AI? Will look for that mod you mentioned if I get the game. Thanks for the heads up.

No prior knowledge needed.  Tactically simple, strategically complex, but not overly so.  The AI is decent enough to challenge me.  With the PotzBlitz mod especially -- an essential add-on, IMO; don't play the game without it -- there is much variation and replayability.  The game can go down a different narrative path each time.  Recommended.
That was a good sales pitch. You had me at "Tactically simple, strategically complex". Just the kind of game I'm looking for. Heading over to Steam to burn some cash. Luckily not that much though  :bd:

Boggit

I got it way before Christmas, but I really recommend it as totally addictive...

I held out not getting anything until almost the last minute. Ended up picking up Children of a Dead Earth, Simple Rockets 2, and Expert Rifleman.

I grabbed OOTP19, Gravteam Tactics Mius Front and Book of Demons. I'll grab a couple of Matrix games this weekend before their sale ends.
Insert witty comment here.

Dammit Carl!

Played it conservative with games this year and have only picked up the Scourge of War Ultimate Super Napoleon Dynamite Collection.

Did my usual 'hold off and pretend I'm not going to buy anything and then panic buy when the sale's almost over' song & dance... Bit of a hodge podge this year, between Steam and GOG:

Invisible Inc.
Duskers
Heat Signature
Papers, Please
Victory & Glory Napoleon
World in Conflict Complete Ed.
Anno 1404
DLC for EUIV and Stellaris

I picked up Darkest Hour as well, but could not get it to run on my Win7 system no matter what I tried, so sent it back...

bobarossa

Strange, I got Darkest Hour from GoG last year and it runs fine on my win7 system.  At least it did a few months ago.

Thanks to the Best of 2018 thread, I bought Assassins Creed Odyssey and Kingdom Come Deliverance
