This is an interesting map. It shows which jobs are disproportionately most frequent in a state compared to other states. The article describes things in more detail, but this map does not represent the most common job in a state - retail worker would be #1 in every state if that were the case. Rather, it shows which jobs are disproportionately more common in a state.

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
