I'm in need of a ZTR mower with a fabricated/welded deck.  I'm hoping to stay under $3000.  I've researched the Hustler Raptor, Bad Boy MZ Magnum, and Big Dog C series.  I've read good and bad on all of them.  Do any of you have one of these?  Is there another one I should be looking at?

fly Smuck over and have him shave your yard.
Jarhead - Yeah. You're probably right.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

Banzai Cat - There is no "partial credit" in grammar. Like anal sex. It's either in, or it's not.

Mirth - We learned long ago that they key isn't to outrun Star, it's to outrun Gus.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

Gus - Celery is vile and has no reason to exist. Like underwear on Star.

I'm pretty happy using my Exmark Turf tracer's with a proslide on the back.  It's sort of like being on waterskis and a good deal cheaper than the sit down versions.  I'd rather pay a little more for a cheaper model of a better brand than I would for a top model of a lesser brand IMO.  I have seen sit down Dixie Choppers cutting tall stuff that I couldn't even begin to attempt though.

Mine have older Kawasaki engines, but I've read a few things about newer Kawasaki quality slipping and Kohler Command Pro being the way to go now.  Definitely nothing with a Kohler Courage engine from what I've read.

I'm mowing almost 4 acres so I'll need a sit down mower for sure.  I just found the Toro TimeCutter MX5060 which looks like the same thing as the Exmark Quest E Series.  There is so much rebranding that happens in mowers...I had no idea.

I have a personal business, but I don't know that I can buy it tax free since I do not have a state sales tax number...so I might have to buy it from mowersdirect.com to save $300+ in taxes.  So that would mean I'm limited to brands they sell.  :\

Believe it or not, Amazon sells riding lawn mowers. If you have bought their Prime membership a bunch are eligible for free shipping And if your find one priced right, buying through this link will give us a small commission (I just linked to the first I saw, but if you click it, anything you get gives us credit).

I didn't even think of that, I will definitely take a look!  And if I buy I'll be sure to use the link.  :)

...and stay away from the Kohler Courage line of engines.  Next most expensive item being transmission so I'd look into those a bit too.  I don't have any thoughts on those other than my small Toro mowers always have a crap transmission so I'd be a bit leary of Toro personally.

I think I'm going to go with a Toro Timecutter SS5000.  It seems the fabricated deck may not be a necessity, as long as a stamped is thick enough they seem to be just as good and a fair bit cheaper and lighter...at least for my needs.

The mower is listed on Amazon but you buy it from another site...hopefully though the link will send some funds to Grogheads though :)

Thanks. Appreciate the thought. It might.

Well I decided against the ZTR completely and just ordered a traditional mower.  I picked this one up, so hopefully Grogheads will get some advertising dollars:  http://www.amazon.com/Husqvarna-GTH24K54-Kawasaki-Garden-Tractor/dp/B00BHSBPX0

IIRC that company is owned by BMW.

4 acres! You're not kidding. I'd have thought a combine harvester would do the trick.... ;D ;)
