Blake Bortles is 3-0 in London, with a QBR over 100.

He's shit in the US, but the guy owns Wembley.

College money well spent by their parents.

yeah, but the kids on Jersey Shore acted the same way, so it's not just college money that engenders such silliness.

Faux Pellini is so awesome...

QuoteDear Faux Pelini,

I am an Ohio State fan and it embarrasses me when my fellow Buckeye fans boo our team for subpar performance. Is booing your own team proper fan behavior?

Best,
Ashamed Buckeye

Well Ashamed,

When your next-door neighbor announces that he has the right to do something, you can be sure it's something bad. There will a bizarre shrub or perverted statue in your future. In the same way, when a sports fan announces he's doing something because it's his right, you know something stupid is coming.

Some people just do what they want to do because they can. That's the only reason they need. Most of us grasped the difference between Can and Should in kindergarten, but a select group of us carried Can/Should confusion into adulthood.

Boo Guy is one of these people.

When you ask Boo Guy why he's booing his own team, he will say he paid for his ticket and it's his right. There are lots of things that he has the right to do and chooses not to, of course. He can turn his basement into a termite farm; he can call his friend's grandmother an ignorant slut; he can do somersaults down an escalator. Just because he can do something doesn't mean he should.

But Boo Guy doesn't care about that distinction. He makes himself feel better by making the players feel worse, and he does it because he can. That's good enough for him and his kindergarten brain.

Yes, Ashamed, booing is our God-given right. But only idiots boo college kids, especially ones on their side.

Faux Pelini is absolutely wrong.

1.  Fans booing isn't always directed to the players.  Many times it's to the coaches.

2.  When you're a player for a team that is a top 10 program year and year out for decades, then you're expected to play like it.  There are hundreds of thousands of kids that don't ever get the change to play in college, even though they were a good high school player.  Those that are selected are getting scholarships and other perks that most students in college don't get.  When talking football and men's basketball, they're also the incentive to go play in the pro's and make millions of dollars.  So, yes, when you like a you're in jr high, then yes, you're going to get booed.  This is especially true when you have life long fans and players that have no emotional attachment to the team/school until they got recruited.

I just really enjoyed the Can/Should dichotomy :)

I only boo College players when they don't hustle.  I've booed a player less than 5 times in 30 years at Auburn.

Good football day so far - NC State won, UNC lost :)

LSU is trying to stink up the joint right now, but I hope they'll get it together by the end of the night.

I especially enjoyed the observation that when someone tells you they have a right to do something, you can be sure they're about to do something bad.

Admittedly that's not always true, but probable by inductive experience. ;)

When he said this in the middle of the afternoon, people thought he was nuts.  By the end of the night, maybe not so much

The SEC race is starting to take shape.

In the West, Mississippi State was overrated after beating amazingly overrated LSU.  LSU got beat by Troy State at home.
Auburn is playing much better offensively.  Their defense has been excellent all year holding Clemson to 14 points.
Alabama is crushing people.  Right now, Auburn is the only team in the West who looks to have a chance against Bama.
Although Texas A&M has only lost 1 game, they just finished the easy part of their schedule.  Their next four games are Bama, Florida, Mississippi St. & Auburn.  If they win two of these they will be fortunate.

In the East, Georgia is simply crushing people.  The beat down of Tennessee in Knoxville was amazing.
Florida keeps winning, barely.  But they keep finding ways to win.  Florida also has an amazingly easy schedule this year.  FSU is really weak.  Michigan beat them.  Their games against teams in the West are LSU and Texas A&M.  Georgia is the only tough game they have left.

And Dook got crushed by Miami
