Found this on the RPGwatch site.  Curious what others think about it.  Personally, at 66 years old, I want nothing to do with crypto-currency.  But that's just me.  Maybe I just don't get it?  https://www.rpgwatch.com/#39311

Veteran game publisher Brian Fargo and other game industry veterans hope to change the PC industry by creating a new cryptocurrency that serves as an alternative to the app stores.

I get the part that people in the industry want a new platform (for me GOG, Steam, Uplay and Origin are enough).  I don't get the part that this would require a cryptocurrency.

Most of my on-line payments are done using Paypal and I will gladly leave cryptocurrency untouched.

Here is my issue with "brand credit" or I guess a version of cryptocurrency.

There needs to be a way to convert it back. For example, I think the Nintendo Wii e-store was famous for this - they would only sell points in certain quantities but the stuff they sold would be in odd increments. Therefore you always had points left over.

You either need a way to refund those points or otherwise give the party a way to use them without having to buy more points.

Insert witty comment here.

Pretty funny to see someone piling on to the cryptocurrency bandwagon just as the bubble is about to burst.
