Hi Asid - so the Steam version has been patched before the Graviteam/Gamersgate version this time?

I have found that in the last few updates the Steam version is slightly ahead just like Krabb said.

Are these patches sequential or cumulative? In other words, do I need to instal April 2015 before May or just go with May, the most recent?

If you have the "Re-Mastered" version of SABOW then it is simple. Just install the latest patch.

If you have "another" version like the physical then you may have to do a core update first.

If any help is required then let me know :)

Don't you still need to apply a Core update exe, then run the content update(s)?  The same old odd update process like that in Achtung Panzer/GT?

Not for the remastered at this point. Steam updates automatically. Gamersgate version just apply the latest update. It is the "Older" version that may require the core update.

I have the GG version. Updated the May patch just fine. The tutorial missions were a great idea. It's really a spectacular game. Graviteam is wonderful with capturing the "little" details.

I downloaded and reinstalled the game and then downloaded the GG patch.... however it is not an exe so I assume you have to go into the game to apply the patch?  Sorry, not home yet and just wanted to make sure.

Correct. It is the same procedure for all patches prior to this. You run the update program from within the game or from the separate .exe in the root directory and install the patch. Then save and play.
