Stumbled across this on Yahoo as part of their look back at 2015.  It took me back to that summer day when two concerts were being played on two continents and Phil Collins was going to play in both of them.  Zeppelin was going to get back together.  And a metric BUTT load of performers were going to play for the benefit of the African people.  In an age before the Internet, I truly think this was the first thing that electronically connected the entire world.  It was watched by a BILLION and a half people!  And it was so much fun to watch!

I watched the whole thing at a friend's house. I sent in some money and got a t-shirt, now long gone. It was indeed an amazing experience for it's time.

IIRC, Collins was able to appear in both the English and US shows because he flew across the Atlantic by Concord.
