Theres a new in-development rogue-like dungeon adventure game called Dungeonmans being developed by a guy who used to work on Bioware's Star Wars The Old Republic with a mate of mine. Anyway, you can clock the game, download a work in progress release to try out, and stump some funds into the Kickstarter if you want.

Here's the Kickstarter Page:

I've been watching this roguelike for awhile.  I'd actually found out about it before it was up on Greenlight.  Looks like it could be one of the better graphical roguelikes out there.

I didn't know there was a new downloadable alpha/beta, however.  The last one had been pulled and there was no d/l available last I checked.  Can anyone pick up the latest build or do you need to donate?

You can download the summer preview from moddb

And you'll need the XNA Framework too.

As far as I know you don't have to donate to play this.

Just given it a blast - its VERY playable. It'll probably be compared to Tales of Maj'Eyal more than anything else.

I thought Dungeonmans was supposed to have procedurally-generated dungeons in it?  TOME doesn't, unfortunately.

Damn.. it keeps crashing before I can even finish creating a character.  :(

Nefaro, have a look here:

Sorry about these crashes. To have it just fail on startup has become exceedingly rare, though. I've been having difficulty with making sure the game works properly on international systems, this has certainly been a learning experience for me.

If you want to help me out, could you send in a screenshot of the vague microsoft error? Dungeonmans has an error reporter built in but if that's not working either then that's a bigger problem.

I'll be here if you want to reply, or you can send things right to jim@dungeonmans.com.

I'm sorry the game's letting you down, I hope I can make it right!

Problem is.. I don't get a Windows Error report at all.  Just the built-in crash report feedback window.  :'(

I'll probably give it a shot on my desktop sometime.  I'm always wary of the different drivers for modern notebooks w/ proper vid cards having some odd effects on betas since they have both onboard (Intel HD crap) and dedicated (Nvidia GT640M in my case) cards and it switches between them depending on need or manual setting per program.
