A church in Finland:

Design elements humble and spare make a powerful impression at St. Henry's Ecumenical Art Chapel in Turku, Finland. Conceived by the Helsinki firm Sanaksenaho Architects, the structure consists of a single slender volume with curved walls that converge dramatically overhead in a steep pitch. (Its shape was inspired by the Christian fish symbol.) Pine planks form virtually every surface of the arklike interior, whose ribbed sides accentuate the sense of perspective that draws one's gaze toward the front of the church. There, vertical expanses of glass bathe the unadorned altar in sunlight, providing a luminous focal point for worship.

Keeps the snow off the roof pretty well, too.
All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

I like the Long Hall / Viking feel to it.
Jarhead - Yeah. You're probably right.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

Banzai Cat - There is no "partial credit" in grammar. Like anal sex. It's either in, or it's not.

Mirth - We learned long ago that they key isn't to outrun Star, it's to outrun Gus.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

Gus - Celery is vile and has no reason to exist. Like underwear on Star.

Yeah. It wastes a lot of material while presenting a huge wind sail. A catenary is the optimum figure for a self supporting roof.

I dont think 'waste' is a useful term in this context.

simplicity of design is hardly wasteful but it does cost more to pull off because of the engineering.

The church where I grew up has a similar design. It makes for a dramatic entrance and is quite pleasant.

Mr. Bigglesworth

The point of the arch is a reminder of Gothic imagery. God would actually prefer the catenary. The tech was not known back in Gothic times. It is stronger, uses less material, most importantly will cost less to heat, will resist wind better, will keep the airy, to the heavens, feel.

The physics shows how He designed the universe or how the universe is designed. Pretending the earth is flat does not make it so.

What's so great about Cialis if it makes you want to take a bath outside in separate bathtubs? And what about all the back injuries resulting from over exertion? Not everyone is in shape enough to drag their claw-foot bathtub outside at a moment's notice...

What's great about Cialis is it gives you an hours-long woodrow, plus bonus side effects like heart damage, kidney stones, COPD, nausea, diarrhea, headaches, blood clots, fever blisters, swamp armpit, pinkeye, tachycardia, myocardial infarction, high blood pressure, depression, thoughts of suicide, Lou Gehrig's disease, dumpster breath, dog warts, Hogwarts, athlete's foot, diabetes, electrolyte depletion, monkey shines, and even more reasons for visiting the doctor to get prescriptions to silly drugs with fifteen thousand negative side effects.
