a_i   I enjoy your game posts but this music selection made my ears bleed.  :o  :-[  :-\    Getting back to some Tiller ACW gaming this weekend.

Hahaha.  Harsh metal is an acquired taste, for sure.  Here's an alternative "FRIDAY and superior" you might find more pleasant and listenable O0

A War of a Madman's Making - a text-based war planning and political survival RPG

It makes no difference what men think of war, said the judge.  War endures.  As well ask men what they think of stone.  War was always here.  Before man was, war waited for him.  The ultimate trade awaiting its ultimate practitioner.  That is the way it was and will be.  That way and not some other way.

If they made nothing but WWII games, I'd be perfectly content.  Hypothetical matchups from alternate history 1980s, asymmetrical US-bashes-some-3rd world guerillas, or minor wars between Upper Bumblescum and outer Kaboomistan hold no appeal for me.

I guess it's sort of nice that the word "tactical" seems to refer to some kind of seriousness during your moments of mental clarity.

Now that wasn't bad at all....I actually liked it.  Maybe the time had something to do with it...I heard the first one at 7:30 this morning, this new one at 3:30 this afternoon.  Have a great gaming weekend.

Isen Torr is a lot more in-line with traditional heavy metal melodies, so it makes sense to me  O0  And likewise!

Dammit Carl!

Been finding some chill tunes in the "Stoner Doom," category personally - nothing specific, but the ambience cannot be beat.

These guys came up in my list and they're awesome:

^ Haven't heard of those guys but I'm loving the thick and saucy reverb  O0

I'm surprised a Stoner Doom band managed to fit 3 whole songs inside 26 minutes.  LOL

Going to stay in my rut and play World of Warships.  Lots of changes to the Commander skills in the last release...and then comes subs  #:-) (next month).

How do you like the Soviet Order of Battle DLCs? I am going to start the first one soon.

Funny you should ask:

That "Front Page of Mystery" really is a mystery to all!

This also reminds me that I need to put all of these assorted reviews on my blog.

I will be playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat. I have probably sunk 20 hours or more into it the last ten days,  it is filled with tension and excitement.
Should i grow bored with that i will go back to playing Tes 4 Oblivion or Shadowempire.

Slightly off topic but didn't I see something about a mod in development to put Oblivion into the Skyrim engine?

Fetrik

Skyoblivion maybe? Haha i'm not sure but i think you are correct.

Gusington

Yes Skyblivion is real, but there is no release date. There is also Skywind (Morrowind in the Skyrim engine) but it doesn't have a release date either.

Going to play: Distant Worlds and some Endless Space me think. There's going to be Distant Worlds 2 gameplay reveal next tuesday, look forward to this.

If i manage, i'll also play STAR WARS™ Starfighter.

Over the last couple of days I've really gotten into Distant Worlds again.  I tweeked the settings to give everyone a lot of distance between empires so the game can roll at a slower pace.  It's more conducive to drinking and listening to music while playing.

I thought I would be playing the new 4.2 patch for Steel Beasts, but I honestly got bored of it already - the same day it was released.

This always happens with Steel Beasts patches. It's like a weird post-partum that comes with patch releases. I get hyped, then we get the patch and I just feel underwhelmed. Or sometimes, I just feel underwhelmed from the beginning.

Steel Beasts doesn't see patch releases very often. They are usually aligned with the fiscal year (eSIM caters to their military customers, so they go with the money), and we have seen times where we pass 2-3 years without new content.

I haven't enjoyed a Steel Beasts content upgrade since 2013. Since then, the developers have focused on the demands of their military customers, and I'm mildly interested in things like yet another off-brand scout truck or other Spanish Army vehicles, or another ATGM system that has very little difference than something already in game.

Some more star citizens:

Here is a shot of me arriving back to Port Ollisar in my Gladius light fighter with one wing gone. Without the wing I lost some weapons and missiles as well as having major issues flying because some thrusters were also out. But she survived.
This was the result of a bounty hunt I did that had be dogfight and kill a human escort and then destroy my bountys ship on the pad. My bounties ship blew up as he ran to it from a security station where he was trying to clear his name. You do this by hacking a terminal. Well. He blew up in the blast.

The Harbringer. I took this shot while escorting my friend in his Prospector mining ship. He had a rock blow up on him as he tried to crack it and had to head back for repairs. I waited on the planet to mark the mining spot for him.

Me jumping out of my Gladius. The suit I am wearing protects me from most environments. Some planets get really cold or hot. Some so bad that a suit will not protect you for long.
This internal hangar is in the city of Loreville I think.

Leaving the City of Loreville on the planet Hurston.

A Dead AI security guard at Security Station Kareah

Coming in to land with wings folded. This is probably Grim Hex, the pirate hang out where no laws are enforced.

The starmap showing the major places you can jump to. Zooming in shows more objects. As you can see I have a jump plotted between the planets microtech and crusader

Entering my ship to find the pilots seat.
