My favorite part of Star Wars has always been the Jedi. I wish they would do a movie centered around one or two Jedi knights, maybe under cover on a mission or something. And not a lot silliness, make it much more serious.

"There's a horror movie called Alien? That's really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you!"

The first few minutes of Phantom Menace must have really got your hopes up.

Exactly! Best part by far.

That Jesus-wielding-the-lightsaber that someone (Barth?) posted recently was rather hilarious.

True; and awesome.  :coolsmiley:

what if theres a Star Trek crossover?  :P
Jarhead - Yeah. You're probably right.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

Banzai Cat - There is no "partial credit" in grammar. Like anal sex. It's either in, or it's not.

Mirth - We learned long ago that they key isn't to outrun Star, it's to outrun Gus.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

Gus - Celery is vile and has no reason to exist. Like underwear on Star.

And the first thirty of Attack of the Clones. Or a lot of that movie actually.

And much of the two hour original Clone Wars animated 'movie'.

And the first twenty minutes at least of Sith.

I bet someone (Joss Whedon!) could make an awesome set of films based on the Rouge Squadron series of novels.

Wasn't Pink 5 part of Rouge Squadron ?

I have no idea, mirth. Beyond the Zahn trilogy and the Rogue Squadron novels, I've not delved deeply into Star Wars fiction. But thank you for posting that.

the trilogy that was set right after the Zahn trilogy was pretty good, too.

I'm all for Abrams blasting the whole original Star Wars story to smithereens to be replaced and remolded in his own vision.  Perhaps this tired Star Wars series will finally get new life breathed into it.   ;)

That's what I'm hoping for.  Something with a bit more "grey area" to the  story, perhaps?  That would be nice.

Enough with the childish crap.  The original two flicks didn't have shit like Jar Jar, Ewoks, or Rollerball Droids.  Hopefully the latter doesn't use up more than the bit we saw.  I want to see some more adult oriented stuff, and that should make sense since the biggest superfans have been adults for a long time now.  To whatever writer's credit, I think the last of the 'Prequels' veered towards the darker direction but from what I understand some other writer(s) had to come in and do that because the usual bunch couldn't.  Hopefully those were all sacked along with Lucas' control and the universe can progress.

whos owned the Clone Wars property?

It was Lucasfilm's, now it's Disney's.

Clone Wars also stayed part of the Canon.

The current Canon includes all the films, Clone Wars (cgi) TV show, Rebels TV show, and the new novels that started being released this year.

The EU is now classified as Star Wars Legends.  They were never actually Canon, even previously, having been given the status of "Official" by Lucasfilm.  The Thrawn trilogy, and hence pretty much everything built on it, became apocryphal upon the release of the prequel trilogy, as the prequels didn't follow Zahn's concept, time frame or story for the Clone Wars.

That said, Lucas cherry picked some things from the EU he liked, like the name Coruscant, and Palpatine's name.   From what I saw back before I stopped following spoilers for the new films, a few EU elements are sneaking into the new films as well.
