Sorry for asking this at this late date, but is this game based on real history or alternate history?

And how does it relate to the battle of the Tsushima straits?

All these historical events took place to the north.

August 7, 1904 battle of the cruiser "Novik" from Port Arthur against the Japanese cruisers "Tsushima" and "Chitose".

On August 8, 1904, coastal settlements of Sakhalin Island were shelled by Japanese gunboats.

August 14, 1904, the naval Battle off Ulsan , also known as the Battle of the Japanese Sea or Battle of the Korean Strait, between cruiser squadrons of the Imperial Russian Navy and the Imperial Japanese Navy during the Russo-Japanese War, four days after the Battle of the Yellow Sea. Strength: 4 Japanese armored cruisers and 2 protected cruisers vs 3 Russian armored cruisers.

On August 24, 1904, a Japanese landing force with 2 armed transports (displacement of about 6,000 tons) unsuccessfully attempted to blow up the cruiser "Novik".

June 24, 1905, the landing of the Japanese troops at the fort Korsakovsky. Fight of the Russian coastal battery and seven Japanese TB destroyers.

On July 10, 1905, the Japanese (1 cruisers and 2 destroyers) bombed the post Alexandrovsky settlement.

On July 11, 1905, the Japanese landed near the De-Kastri settlement.

On July 13, 1905, the action took place at the Russian observation post at Cape Lazarev (2 Japanese TB destroyers, 1 company of Russian infantry, 2 Russian guns, and Russian torpedo launches from Nikolaevsk).

July 31, 1905 2 Japanese TB destroyers bombarded Lazarev Cape. An attempt to land the troops repelled by the Russians.

On August 1, 1905, Petropavlovsk was bombarded from two ships headed by Admiral Togo Jr. The population did not suffer, having left the city in time, there were few destructions, there was no serious damage. After the bombing, a landing of 200 soldiers landed in the city, government papers and money from the city treasury were seized.

Finally got to sit down and play this for a bit.  Really like it so far as the eras that you cover aren't covered very often.

Some gripes so far:

I get several freezes trying to reload a saved game.  In fact I don't think I've ever been able to reload a save. I just have to start over each time I play.

I got a horrible CTD right at the climax of an awesome battle.  Finally lured the Russians into a pitched battle against all my battleships and pummeled them, then CTDed !!!!  Just my luck.

Thoughts:

Would like to see more detail into the damage model, like Guns disabled with damage animation.  Or various systems disabled with animation.  Currently it just has damage decals show and abstractly represented, it seems the ships are able to function too much after taking such critical damage.

Have you ever thought of just having one "Iron Clad" platform that is constantly updated and you just release all the new content as DLC ?  That way you don't have all these separate titles.

Great job on the game though, my son and I had a blast watching the two fleets of capital ships square off.  Look forward to future progress on the engine.

Thank! We like to make such games.

This is a technical problem and we would like to receive several save files from you so that we can try to understand what needs to be "fixed". Please contact us at support(at)totemgames.ru

Unfortunately, it still happens sometimes. We know what needs to be done, but we need a save file as close as possible in time to the crash of the program and another file that the game creates after the program is crush to the desktop. Find in a folder "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Clad in Iron: Sakhalin 1904" for Windows Vista, 7, 8, 10 or "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Clad in Iron: Sakhalin 1904" for Windows XP a file "Totem3Log.log"

These are interesting and useful thoughts. Thank!

We are working on it.
