Damn email caught me at a weak moment yesterday, i dropped 7 titles in the basket, applied the bulk order discount and never looked back. 3 SB titles, 3 PZ Campaign titles, all west front and threw in REN. Still waiting for my email download links.

Definitely picking up Waterloo today.  Can afford only one other title. Have to decide between a Squad Battles game (a series I've never tried) or ACW Antietam. budd....how are the SB titles or are you new to that series as well?

I love SB. They were the first Tiller games I got from HPS. I love the smaller scale, which is mostly on the platoon and company level, and find the scenarios much more manageable.

Which is the better game, Advance of the Reich or the newer, Red Victory?

SB used to be my favorite scale, think I lean more towards PB but that might be because I've played it more. I'd echo what JH said regarding SB.

Slash I was faced with that same question first time I purchased an SB game, went with RV because it has just about 3 times as many scenarios to choose from and was newer.

My understanding is that Red Victory is the more popular multiplayer game, but I spent more time with Advance as I prefer to play the Germans.

Checked out the new demo for Campaign Waterloo with the new units and maps by WDS.

Ten minutes later.....30 dollars poorer but a happy man. What a difference !

I would have bought more at the reduced price but will wait until more Napoleonics are upgraded.

I'd really like to try that Campaign Shennandoha.

I read the book Stonewall in the Valley a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it.  I wonder how the extra-long marches Stonewall could do over the Union armies could be depicted in a wargame?

There was a really good review of Campaign Vicksburg years ago back when we were on Wargamer, I think.  I really enjoyed the review, but I've always thought the Vicksburg campaign would be a pretty boring game.  Curious to try that out, too.

I have Campaign Gettysburg; I just haven't spent any time at all with it.  The Tiller games always sound more fun than they are once I tackle that interface, LOL.

I had to finally pull the trigger on France '40 Gold...I have wanted it for years, now I regret I waited so long.   There are a couple CW titles I may get...and Waterloo...and...of course Pacific War since it will complete my WWII SB collection...then there is East Prussia '14 so I can complete my WWI collection...damn I need to be careful.

I'm trying out their demo and I will probably get a few games before the weekend ends.

Can somebody tell me if there is a way to change some settings in game or by using a config file (sound volume, screen resolution, hotkeys, ...).

I find some things rather difficult to read on higher screen resolutions (e.g. unit box attack value and range).

Here is a quick list.  There are more but didn't go through the entire scenario list.  All these have the Germans on the defense against the hordes of the Soviet Union.

014: Staraja Russia
025: Garany
028: Nikolajewka
032: Rocherovo
035: Nova-Buda
052: Senno
059: Radzymin

I just grabbed the scenario name but I should have grabbed the descriptive title instead as it would have told you a bit more.

Hi Gabeeg.

So far so good...this might become my favorite PzC title so far.  Large amount of scenarios (and scenario variations) has monsters, large, mid size and small.  I like the theater, year and equipment mix so right up my alley, and a lot of variety in units, equip. and map features.  ...take with a grain of salt though, I have only played through 1.5 scenarios so far, and that against the AI.

Has anyone played Campaign Vicksburg...or for that matter, other Civil War campaigns other then Gettysburg and can recommend one?

Rayfer, I haven't played Gettysburg in donkeys, but I'm pretty sure there should be a campaign option where you have to pick a handful of choices before the game starts to determine the starting condition of the units.  Sorry I can't be more help on how to find it.

In your Campaign Gettysburg folder you will find a cp_start application. Click it and a box opens asking you to pick a name to save it. Type in what you want and save and then you should be at the box to pick your Campaign options

I've played them all and after Gettysburg my favorites are Antietam and Chickamauga. Antietam also includes both Bull Run battles plus South Mountain. Chickamauga includes Perryville and Murfreesboro.

Just ran through the start up scenario without referring to the walkthrough this morning and my 7th Panzer only got 2 of the three objectives so it was indeed "A Bloody Nose" as the scenario is titled  :) ......I scraped a marginal defeat due to wiping out some Belgian units but maybe I do need the walkthrough as it is pretty much my first proper go at a Tiller WW2 title. :)

Made mistakes with the engineers and the Belgian Chasseurs were tough but wow what a great game. Looks so much better and your recommendation was spot on. Thank you.

Those files go in the main folder and have the main folder structure but will overwrite some original files.

I use JSGME to install (or uninstall) these mods while protecting the original files.

I started an AAR for the campaign game in the 1.0 version, though we didn't get very far and moved on to other scenarios.

The Japanese forces are stronger now than they were in the original version, and I'm worried that might tip the balance in favour of the Japanese.

It's a good title though. If you don't mind a hypothetical campaign with mostly historical forces.

So my purchases in the sale have really struck gold (excuse the pun).

After a couple of days of head scratching my way around the nuances of the UI variances (next turn button is top right in some games and top left on another  ::) )I have totally fallen in love with the redone titles.

Campaign Ozark featuring the exploits of Union General Nathan Lyon in the Missouri backwaters against the State Guardsmen of the Confederate Governor leading up to the battles of Corinth and Wilson's Creek where Lyon's arrogance finally caught up with him has been a total joy on lovely maps. What I didn't expect was the period music and the songs describing satirically or otherwise the actor's in the drama in their lyrics ! So cool.

France 40 meanwhile has proved a nice challenge as the French against Rommel's Panzers and we are standing at one win each to date  :)

The sale is still on....very dangerous for my wallet ....

Great job by WDS on the ACW maps in particular.

I completely agree devoncop....Ozark overtook Antietam and Gettysburg as my favorite Tiller ACW game.  It looks great, plays great, and even the larger battles are small in comparison to the other titles I mentioned.   I can only afford 1 more game before the sale ends.  Not sure what to pick....have never tried a Modern Campaign game but then Panzer Battles Normandy looks inviting.   :-\

I am in the same boat as you as I can only really afford one (or at a stretch 2  :)) more games in the sale. Antietam will be the first.

I am tempted to buy them approximately chronologically.....

Although I am enjoying France 40 , Campaign Normandy is just too much of a stackfest for me to cope with I think. ... :)

Couldn't resist... picked up Japan '45 and Market Garden '44.   Now I need to sit down and actually *play* them.

In the upcoming Scheldt 44 release there is apparently an even bigger Market Garden Campaign included .......so maybe you may need space for one more  :bd:

I'm sticking to Renaissance for the moment.  Nieuport (1600) is the latest battle in that game and a nice Osprey campaign book just came out on that so maybe I can fix up their Nieuport Scenario.

Grabbed ACW Campaign Peninsula as time was running out.  A lot of small to mid-sized battles to play out.

I am proud of myself.

I bought three titles when the sale first started.

Then I almost bought a bunch more as the sale dragged on. There were many evenings during the sale when I filled my shopping cart...but never hit buy.

The little gamer in my head would say; "What if one morning you wake up with an insane desire to fight Borodino or Champion Hill? Buying Napoleon's Russia Campaign and the Civil War Vicksburg Campaign would surely solve this dilemma." Then that downer of accountant in my head (or sometimes my wife) would say; "But you already have more games than you can play in your lifetime."

This time the accountant prevailed, and fortunately I managed to maintain fire discipline and the sale passed with my wallet mostly unharmed.

But John Tiller will have other chances to take my money and I know it will be a struggle every time.

However, if JTS ever decides to upgrade their engine and UI to the 21st century...well...so much for the kid's inheritance.

I ended up adding Tunisia '43 to my other purchases.   ;D   Couldn't resist a more wide open campaign.

Graphics updates were released for various Napoleonic titles earlier this week.

QuoteWe continue to roll out updates for the Napoleonic Battles series. This is a major update implementing a 2D & 3D* Graphics overhaul and many new engine enhancements. This process is bringing all the games in the series up to the same level. In this round the following games are 1814, Bautzen, Eckmuhl, Jena, Wagram and the Russian Campaign.
