Sir Slash

That's why I play Rome 2. No effing Dwarves. At least not so far anyway.
"Take a look at that". Sgt. Wilkerson-- CMBN. His last words after spotting a German tank on the other side of a hedgerow.

Man, I never knew dwarfs were this promiscuous.

Halflings, sure...gnomes probably...but dwarfs? No way...
Insert witty comment here.

Sir Slash

I blame Snow White for getting all this started. All they had to do was say, 'Hi Ho' and she moved right in with them.  <:-)

So there I was:  Emperor Karl Franz, beloved of his men, fighting a desperate defense at the city of Grunburg against von Leibwitz's invasion of my lands.  There's lots of back & forth, with the outcome of the engagement very much in doubt -- until towards the end, when I finally manage to turn the tide of battle in my favor...and then the goddamn game crashes.  >:(

ARGH!!!  I spent almost an hour fighting that battle, damn it!  Gah!!  :buck2:
I finally summoned the will to re-fight this battle, and this time had better/happier results:  No crashes, and a Pyrrhic victory.  <:-)  Given the disparity between forces, and the fact that I'm admittedly only an average commander when it comes to Total War games, I was perfectly content with this outcome.  (Thank goodness I had a Celestial Wizard to call upon!  The importance of employing at least one magic-wielder in your army cannot be overstated.)

Even better was when von Leibwitz sued for peace two turns later, which I magnanimously agreed to.  I'm keeping Franz's army stationed in Grunburg, though (near my border with Wissenland); I suspect he might be busy again soon...  O:-)

Also:  I will never not love the Dwarves.  :smitten:
