I saw X-Men. I liked it more than X-Men 3, both Wolverine films, and even First Class, although X-Men 1 and 2 were better.
Good morning and welcome, CosPetia! I saw the new X-men movie this weekend, too. I really liked it. I'm an Avengers fan though. So, wait until Age of Ultron comes out and we'll see which one is better.
On my flight from Hong Kong, I watched Out of the Furnace starring Woody Harrelson, Willem Dafoe, and Christian Bale. It's a thoroughly dark, plodding, depressing movie where life sucks and almost everyone is a complete bastard. It was well shot and well acted, I just wasn't in the mood for such a downer.
Welcome Cospetia to Grogs. How about Pork Chop Hill from 1959 with Gregory Peck Saturday night on Blockbuster channel? The movie was in 2 colors, black and white. Before that, Godzilla.
.
After reading all of the hoopla here, I finally binged on the first season of Sons of Anarchy.
I get it now. I feel very SAMCRO peddling my bike along the banks of the Green River, I assure you.
Starting Justified after Leonard has passed isn't the smartest thing I'll ever do, either. But so is putting off watching it this long.
I watch everything time shifted through Hulu, OnDemand, and the like.
Just watch the Warehouse 13 series finale last night. It was good 'n sappy, just as it should have been. I'll miss that show :(
The last few nights before that I watched the first few episodes of Salem. The dialogue could use a little tightening up (anachronisms again ::)) but it is an interesting and occasionally bizarre effort.
Has anyone watched the new American Revolutionary War series 'Turn (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2543328/news)'?
I tried to watch Crossbones last night and fell asleep 15 minutes in.
Were you able to figure out what Malkovich's accent was supposed to be?

Sons is one of the all time great television shows. Having said that, if you are going to binge watch, just try to power through Season 3. IIRC, that's the one where they go to Ireland in pursuit of a goal very near to Jax's heart. Other than that, it's been a
VERY satisfying experience.

I had it on the DVR, but realized there was no chance of getting around to it. I might still watch it, but I'll do it all on demand or Netflix or something

I watched the first three episodes and then gave up on it. Too slow moving and the characters really didn't hit it for me. According to the ratings the show is getting, it may not survive for a second season.
I liked Turn but I've fallen behind on it. I think I've got 4 episodes queued up.
Last show I watched was episode 6 of Fargo. It's starting to get a little goofy.
I like Turn a lot...good period flava, hot buxom women and skullduggery. I missed last week but have seen every other episode.
Was not able to figure out Malkovich's accent in Crossbones beyond "not like mine."

Hell no you're not...that show is brilliant!
I've been having episodes of Psych playing in the background whilst working. Also gone through all the episodes of Archer and Venture Bros., which makes housework/cleaning go much easier.
Warehouse 13 was a lot of fun but Eureka was more funnerest.

QFT.
I can't bring myself to watch the last few episodes of Eureka because it WILL suck to realize it's all over.
Eureka was also terrific. I loved the whole cast (even James Callas). I'm glad that both shows got to actually wrap things up instead of just vanishing, POOF!, at the end of a season cliffhanger such as is the fate of many good tv shows.

Chuck was downright addictive.
Psych has its moments. The characters all have great chemistry.
Burn Notice is pretty good, too.

Another great show, although I actually liked the episodes concerning the whole multiverse Good Walter/Bad Walter(not so bad after all) plot line better than the 'All your Base Are Belong to Observers' finale.

That is very good to know. I confess I did a little reading ahead and saw that show moved to ireland for a season (even to the extend of there being a samc belfast?), which sounded dangerously like shark jumping.
I gotta admit, I was disappointed to see the actor who plays Fusco in Person of Interest not keep playing samcro's ira contact.
the ending was good. I could buy into it in way that wasn't possible with the Sopranos or BSG. \
it wasn't break bad great but it was good.

Pretty much. The network executive dickweeds axed the show after the second season, if I remember right. I started watching it on Netflix, loved it, but gave it up after a few episodes when I saw it was cancelled after two seasons.

Chuck and Burn Notice are two of my favorite "lite" shows. Fun, great casts, and don't require much brain power to enjoy.
Latest X-Men movie last night.
Wife has me watching Sherlock from the UK.
Both have been excellent
so the very first two Next Gen episodes are on BBC America right now.
many lulz to be had!
theres a new series about D-Day on the National Geographic Channel right now.
.
I love the little toy soldiers from that!
You mean the ones that the main character's son plays with in the flashback scenes?
Saw RIPD. Not as bad as I thought it was going to be.

no, it was a straight forward doc that spent a lot of time on the French resistance.

Hey now, even I wouldn't go *that* far. I've always found
Van Wilder and
Waiting to be good stupid fun; and if his performance as a father of a 10-year-old girl in
Definitely, Maybe wasn't entirely believable, he still exhibited a lot more depth and emotional nuance than I'd previously thought he was capable of.
See, Martok, knowing all those things would require having watched them (although I HAVE seen Waiting and parts of Van Wilder). How do you think I came to the conclusion of Reynolds utter lack of acting ability? There's just something about him that screams, "MAJOR A$$HOLE," whenever his face comes on screen. It's even worse when he opens his mouth.

I didn't say it wasn't shitty, just not as shitty as I was prepared for.
And yes, both Waiting and Van Wilder are very enjoyable.

I just feel it is my civic duty to warn people about Ryan Reynolds. It's the same way I feel about Kurt Cobain, although, Ryan hasn't done us Kurt's favor. Yet.
graham norton is pretty fucking funny tonight.
I liked Van Wilder (the first one, the others are shite). Casting Ryan as Deadpool in the first Wolverine movie made no sense, not to mention what they did with Deadpool...I love the Deadpool character from the comics, and while Ryan has the smart-assery ability to pull off that character to an extent, there's far better actors that could do a much better job.
Saw Wanted this weekend.... mindless fun shooting movie.
Best line in the move - "I'm sorry." - as he shoots the guy through the sunroof.
Qpid is a great TNG episode.
Just finished watching 1966's "The Blue Max". I've seen bits and pieces of the movie over the years without really paying attention to it, but finally watched it this week. Great movie!
This and 1976's "Aces High" are two World War One movies I really enjoy.
Is Aces High the one with Malcolm McDowell?
I have the Blue Max on DVD but haven't watched it in a loooong time. Might have to put it on soon. Another movie with some WW1 flying is Darling Lili but that one is rarer and expensive. The script was written by William Peter Blatty (the Exorcist, Twinkle twinkle, Killer Kane) and Blake Edwards (Pink Panther movies). What an odd team. ???
I just saw The 40 Year Old Virgin last night for the first time. What a top notch movie. And for those who don't know, Steve Carrell is an AWESOME actor! There isn't a bad film I have seen him in.

Yes and with Christopher Plummer as well. I saw it years ago. Pity it's never been released on DVD for region 1. It's only out for Region 2.
Even though I obviously know the spoiler ending, I don't know that I'll tire of watching
The Usual Suspects.

Yep, here it is: http://www.netflix.com/WiMovie/70159945?trkid=2361637
so it would seem that Red and Red2 have become movies that I will always watch I run across them.

I really liked The Tudors. I was sad to see the series end. The writer of that series also writes Vikings.
Double post.
^ thanks, I know what I'll be watching next. Always loved the period pieces.
Drunk History is lots of fun. O0
Just checked...Aces High is indeed on Netflix (streaming) right now.
I'll have to check that out. I, too, just watched Blue Max for the first time only a few weeks ago...very impressive movie.
I've finally committed to watching the first four seasons of Game of Thrones. Two episodes away from finishing the first season. I've read three or four of the books...I can't remember which one I stopped on, though I do remember I stopped halfway or so through it.
I was trying to watch Babylon 5, but that first season is s o sss llll ooooooo wwwwwwww...
ya.... its painful but the show gets much better. I wish they would remake it today.
.
House of Cards. I dig it. Very well done.
