The only rig that ever had fans that were so loud they became annoying is my current one, an ASUS. But they were annoying immediately, as soon as I set the machine up, and probably the only complaint I ever had with this machine that was even remotely serious.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the purchase didn't go through and after spending literally 2 hours on various calls with Newegg and the bank, I threw in the towel. I closed three accounts with the bank and in a fit of rage, closed my Newegg account too.

Amazing how such joy can so quickly turn into complete sorrow.

In any event...I'm a firm believer in the old adage that everything happens for a reason.

I'll make a really long story short...

I made the purchase by applying for a credit card with a 12-month deferred zero interest offer. The application was approved and the purchase was made. In a colossally illogical move, the bank declined the purchase based on suspected fraud. After clearing that up with the bank and unfreezing the new account, I went to complete the order with Newegg, but Newegg insisted on having the card expiration date and the CVV code, which as a new account, I obviously did not have. Therefore, the purchase could not go through and despite being told different things by the bank and Newegg, the final result was that I would need to wait until I receive the card in 8 to 14 days, or just use a different card which totally defeats the purpose.

This, in and of itself is annoying, but the customer service representative I had the misfortune of getting at Newegg was such a nasty bitch, that she just totally set me off. I'm still thinking of ways I can take her complete lack of courtesy and assistance out on the company.

My cousin has been trying to get a 3080 since release with no luck.

He finally said "F it" and grabbed a 3090.

I will be benefiting from this by picking up a used 2080TI for about the price I got my 1070 at, which I will trickle down to my wife's and kid's computer.

Congrats om the rig JH...hoping to build myself a new one early next year.

With the easy to install All in One liquid coolers becoming mainstream, there's no excuse not to put a new cpu under liquid cooling.
