They could rename themselves the Washington Renegades.  Wouldn't have to changed the emblem at all.

Red Tails would have been cool, imo.  Honestly, it's more funny than anything that the team can't get any of the names the fans want because some random doofus trademarked them all before they did.  It's a pretty laughable predicament through-and-through.

It makes no difference what men think of war, said the judge.  War endures.  As well ask men what they think of stone.  War was always here.  Before man was, war waited for him.  The ultimate trade awaiting its ultimate practitioner.  That is the way it was and will be.  That way and not some other way.
- Cormac McCarthy, Blood Meridian

If they made nothing but WWII games, I'd be perfectly content.  Hypothetical matchups from alternate history 1980s, asymmetrical US-bashes-some-3rd world guerillas, or minor wars between Upper Bumblescum and outer Kaboomistan hold no appeal for me.

I guess it's sort of nice that the word "tactical" seems to refer to some kind of seriousness during your moments of mental clarity.

I honestly think they should just not pick a nickname.  Call themselves the Washington DC football club.  They can either use a stylized DC as their logo or keep the profile image and replace it with George Washington.  Just put the numbers on the helmets if they don't to display the logo in that way.

That way the fans can call them whatever they want.

As a Cowboys fan I hate losing a bit of the history with our rivals here.
"These men do not want a happy ship. They are deeply sick and try to compensate by making me feel miserable. Last week was my birthday. Nobody even said "happy birthday" to me. Someday this tape will be played and then they'll feel sorry."  - Sgt. Pinback
