he may have been on the wrong side but theres nothing Ive read about him that would make me question his character.

It's always easier to see specific German tankers in a less negative light if they plied their trade on the Ostfront.

Yes...I have trouble honoring this guy. 150 tanks is a lot of dead allied soldiers.

He clearly had zealous support for the German cause because he tried to enlist and was rejected by the Wehrmacht on several occasions. That didn't stop him from trying.

Anyway, I'm not here to judge...that's something God is doing at this very moment.

I can't but help agree with JH on this, although I must admit, I've been tempted to read his book, 'Tigers in the Mud' a few times.

I'll most likely pick up the Stackpole edition at some point. I already have a fair collection of their books in my library.
