I don't really like basketball, but it is great news that LeBron coming back to Cleveland...good for business and adds excitement.....very stunned he is doing it.

Surprised the hell out of me.  I didn't think he'd go back there anymore than Favre would've returned to Green Bay.  I wish him well, though.

I wouldn't rule out Favre returning to Green Bay :P

+1....I am sure ESPN will have at least one report during the pre-season where he is reconsidering un-retiring:)

This is one of those rare times when a sports signing actually surprises me. Wow.

Its amazing how much one person makes a difference to a team and the city....in under 8 hours, the Cavs sold out all their season tickets after the news was announced.  Without Lebron, they haven't been able to fill the seats at all and hardly anybody talks about them around Cleveland.  Couldn't give away free tickets.  Now all tickets are gone and I can only imagine what it will do to all the bars and eateries downtown on game days like it did when he was before.

I don't even like pro basketball or any Cleveland sports teams for that matter, but even has me a little excited the vibe in the area will be improved:)

Cleveland is now even more the center of the ESPN universe.  They already had Johnny Football, and now you add the Lebron Homecoming...  eeesh.

The Cavs were looking for a new coach this after this last season.  I didn't follow it closely, but it seemed like they were having trouble landing one.  I wonder how many turned them down for the job and are now wishing they hadn't.

Unless everything they have done for the recent past was strategized and blessed with Lebron all along (i.e. coach, gm, drafted players, player moves, etc.).  I kind of think Lebron and the Cavs probably knew this was going to happen for awhile, although neither will ever admit that.

I listen to an inordinate amount of sports talk radio, local and national.  The national guys were on Lebron to Cleveland since, well, he signed with Miami four years ago.  The scenario has always been that he would play a few years in Miami and get his titles and then come home and bring some titles there.  So, his homecoming is not really much of a surprise at all.

Having said all that, you have to admire a few things about his return.  First, that he's returning at all after the outpouring of hatred from fans and ownership when he left initially.  Acting like a spurned lover who throws your stuff on the front lawn, sets it on fire and then keys your car and knifes your tires.  Oh, and then stalks your new girlfriend to tell her what kind of a limp dick you are.  THAT's what Cleveland fans and ownership reacted like when he left.

Second, his feeling of loyalty to the area he grew up in likely swayed him to return.  We all have a special fondness for where we come from.  We want to see the old home town doing well.  And to realize that your going home will revitalize the area and bring up spirits and economic  opportunities is just icing on the cake.

Last, Cleveland FINALLY has some talent that might be worth playing with.  Despite the conspiracy theorists, who insist that Cleveland's three first overall draft picks in four years in order to get enough talent there for Lebron to come home, the Cavs have a solid core of young players.  The King has his court in Andrew Wiggins, Kyrie Irving, Anderson Varajao et al.  And now that he's back, you can bet over the next couple of years, there will be good free agents willing to take a discount to come play with James.

So, I am happy for Cleveland.  The land of perpetual sports losers has a lot to talk about and be excited for.

I havent really heard much about it outside the day it was announced down here.
then again we really dont expect much from our sports teams in Miami.  to be honest Im hard pressed to think of a "Dolphin" bar on Sunday.
Toonces - Don't ask me, I just close my eyes and take it.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

Banzai Cat - There is no "partial credit" in grammar. Like anal sex. It's either in, or it's not.

Mirth - We learned long ago that they key isn't to outrun Star, it's to outrun Gus.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

Gus - Celery is vile and has no reason to exist. Like underwear on Star.
