Too bad it's only a week :P

Olbermann is fussy, but he might be one of the most sports-knowledgeable guys in the world. As long as he stays out of politics, he's pretty entertaining.
Agreed, Brant. I always liked him and Dan Patrick doing Sportscenter together. I always got the impression though that he thought he was too smart for the room.
people still talk about Penn state? Man, that thing will never end.
Nor should it. It was pretty awful.
I'm not the first person to say this, but it's a sentiment with which I agree: when did punishment become the response to words we don't like? Reporters, columnists, &c., have been saying offensive, difficult, weird things for a long time and we chose to agree, disagree, read, not read, subscribe, not subscribe to their stuff. Now we want a pound of flesh.
I'm no fan of his -- although I think Penn State's football complex should be bombed until the rubble bounces -- but we're heading to a weird place vis-a-vis our tolerance of opinions, even obnoxious ones.
And, just in case this comes up, I get that ESPN can do whatever it bloody well wants with the people it pays, but, back when I was writing for a living, I would have expected a little more protection from my employer...
Best,
Jim

I've always felt Olbermann is a douche. Period. Never cared for him. Personally I'd like to see all the media prima donnas cleaned out. Costas. Olbermann. Buck. All of them. It's not about you asshole or your freaking opinion. It's about a game. Winners. Losers. Stats. Period. And I'm sick of the Penn State bullshit too. The guy is in prison. The program received a punishment. Joe's image forever tarnished. What the hell else more do you want? Public floggings? Good grief.
