Some of these I knew already, some I didn't. Many of Heath Ledger's scenes in Batman were unscripted. This list left off the best one, where Joker sticks his head out of the stolen police car and just enjoys the wind hitting his face.

I'm betting a few will surprise you.

Sir Slash

"Take a look at that". Sgt. Wilkerson-- CMBN. His last words after spotting a German tank on the other side of a hedgerow.

Great find Steel. Enjoyed it.

Yeah!  #8 was my favourite scene from that movie.  Also, nice to see Bill Murray make it a couple of times.
Any time is a good time for pie.

Sir Slash

It seems like some of the best movie scenes are unscripted. Of course you could never write a script for R. Lee Ermy. Got it Numb-nuts.

OJsDad

wasn't the bra removal scene in Flashdance unscripted.  Now that is a classic.
'Here at NASA we all pee the same color.'  Al Harrison from the movie Hidden Figures.

Nice find, Steelie

Of the 20 scenes I'm familiar with, I can only claim I already knew 8 of them were unscripted; the rest were indeed a surprise to me.  #4 in particular I wouldn't have guessed was ad-libbed.

"Like we need an excuse to drink to anything..." - Banzai_Cat
"I like to think of it not as an excuse but more like Pavlovian Response." - Sir Slash

"At our ages, they all look like jailbait." - mirth

"If we had lines here that would have crossed all of them. For the 1,077,986th time." - Gusington

"Government is so expensive that it should at least be entertaining." - airboy

"As long as there's bacon, everything will be all right." - Toonces

Yeah, #4 surprised me as well. Along those lines, in the wake of Robin William's passing it has come out that perhaps the majority of his performances were ad-libbed, going back to Mork and Mindy days and including much of Good Morning Vietnam. For Aladdin, producers have said there was enough material for three movies and they picked out the choicest bits.

That would not surprise me at all.  I would guess that if anything, it was more a challenge to keep him on-script than not.

I'd heard that as well.  My impression is they largely wrote the rest of the movie around his (mostly ad-libbed) lines.
