For similar whackadoo comics continuity fanservice, you could do a lot worse than Arrow and (eventually) The Flash (which starts concurrently with Arrow 3.0). The Flash has much superior writing and plot design (and sfx design), but Arrow has its good points, sometimes. Don't forget to DVR in case they repeat this season's Shield eps, though (assuming you don't want to steal it from somewhere).

Don't know from work if Arrow is available on Prime or 'flix. The Flash will most likely repeat its first half-season in coming weeks (and already repeated a few critical eps we somehow missed recording the first time.)

This might be a good time to get into Lost or the Battlestar: Galactica reboot.
