I'm not familiar with the Victory and Glory system but it looks like it could be a good "beer and pretzels" game.

What's the combat like in this game?  Turn-based?  Complicated or simple?  Predictable or really random?

I've watched a couple of YouTube videos but have not bought the game.  V&G:ACW seems to be a fun beer and pretzels wargame but I'll probably hold off buying it until I get my hands on the upcoming Grand Tactician: American Civil War.
