Was not as painful as I expected...hopefully the next two provinces (Kai +Musashi) will take less time and work to capture. Then...victory.

If I can get in a solid gaming session tonight and resistance isn't too strong, victory may be mine :)

An important siege that I didn't get pictures of was my victory over 6-7 Shogunate stacks in the province immediately to the south (left of the screen). Smashing those armies allowed me to move on, it was very decisive.

Onward :)

in Rome 2 you could auto the battles and get a decent set of odds on the victory depending on your stance - do you get that in FotS?

Sir Slash

In my FOTS campaign, I used the auto-resolve a lot because a number of the battles were larger than just the one or two-off stacks. In order to get all your troops counted in the battle you had to use it because, if I remember correctly, you can only control a maximum of 20 units at a time on the battle screen. The rest come on as the routed units leave. Still once you get Gatling Guns and if you have arty or naval support, you can generally whip more than your weight in enemies.

Gusington

Yeah I have been auto resolving about half the battles...I still enjoy them though, especially with my teched up armies.

The province I took last night got taken back :/ ...still have to take three provinces unless I can get to Musashi in some alternative way. Played to a stalemate tonight after two hours.

Take a break Gus. The game knows you're coming. Wait and catch it off-guard on a slow weekend. I have many games I'm slowly sneaking up on. Shhhh... :uglystupid2:

Sir Slash

One thing I've never cared for about the TW games is the arbitrary Victory Conditions--- Capture this province or that many provinces, or whatever. It's getting better now with the alternate Vic. Conditions but still feels very artificial. That's why in Rome 2, I'm going all out for a campaign win as the Germans but playing Rome just the way I want to without worrying about the win and I'm enjoying it more.

Gusington

I hear you but this is for bragging rights over this damned game!

Plus the victory conditions here make some sense...hold the capital of all Japan (which I have) but also the province of Musashi...not sure why Musashi is a goal...

Sir Slash

Me either. I never could understand why some places are chosen for "Must Have " status. For whatever it's worth, your campaign sounds a lot like the one I played.... A host of armies around the capital and it's environ. It did take some time to slough through.

I still have some fight left in me before calling it a draw.
