Happy Easter!

Today is Good Friday and Sunday is Easter.

This is probably the first Easter in my life that I will not be going to church.  We are doing the Mass Readings every Holy Day.  I was scheduled to do part of the long reading on Palm Sunday and Good Friday at some of the Masses - until the plague quarantine hit.

Easter is the most important holiday for Christians.  If Easter did not happen, then Christianity is irrelevant.

For Jews, this is Passover - one of the most important religious days in their faith.

We're even pretty close this year! (I think Passover was sundown yesterday, this year.)

Most Christian congregations worldwide still call the holiday Pascha, too. ("Easter" is a reference to the sunrise, i.e. the morning after that most famous Passover ended -- the morning when the tomb was found empty by the women, and the visitations began.)
