...just in case you've ever dreamed about being in the Finnish Army. :dreamer:

I have, actually! The game looks er...cleaner...than I would have thought.
Quote from: ArizonaTank on January 13, 2023, 04:39:31 PMThe game will be much better with the following DLCs:
1) "Hurry Up and Wait" with the "50 Push-Ups for Asking 'Why?'" extension.
2) "Fox Hole Digging"
3) "Health and Welfare Inspection"
4) "Mandatory Fun Run"
Or maybe the Finns have reached a higher plane of military expertise, and have more sophisticated options.
Army life is universal I guess so this list covers the Finnish armed forces pretty nicely too. With NATO compatibility since nineties especially.
As for proper Finnish Army peculiariaties, here's
my top 3 list from late eighties when I was a conscript.
They've all been abandonded since, and with them, the whole army now lays in ruins afaik. So its good to have games, at least.

#3: (no, this is universal too I guess): learning to take two consecutive steps on your left/right foot to get into lockstep. #3: "Pinkka", an immaculate square made of your bed cover that was inspected as part of the evening protocol before lights were put out and everyone was supposed to sleep.

Note how he's managed to create a perfect left side (seen from here), while the right side twists a bit. That "twist" is what was known as a Civilian Twist still a part of you, preventing you from becoming a full holistic martial life form. So you had to start a new. #2: It was strictly forbidden to have any headwear inside, or to appear outside without one. There's this magical place at the outside door where you're neither inside nor are you outside, and your headwear status changes almost magically. I suspect quantum mechanics.

#1:
Background: Finnish Army of the old was based on Prussian protocols based on the experiences from the WW1 German trained Jaegers who returned from their military training to win the Civil war against the Russian supported communists (Finnish Civil War of 1918 can also be seen as one of the fronts of WW1 Eastern Front), and the new Armed Forces were built on their standards.
Accordingly, one only ever saluted by hand when with headwear (also: see #2). Without, one makes a sharp military bow (like we've seen in many WW2 movies how German Heer soldiers do it inside. Klop!)
=> What is less if at all depicted is the military bow
while walking.
That is an art form in itself, where your lower body down from the hip maintains its rhythm towards where ever your going, while your upper torso turns towards the higher ranking soldier, makes a sharp bow towards him while you maintain a fierce eye contact towards him depicting your martial spirits. Then, while you still walk, your upper body keeps facing the officer until he nods back, or your sort of past him and can continue as normal.
Once the game covers all this most important stuff, I am a first day buyer.
That said, I quite liked the RK62 open sights part of the game. As someone who hasn't hunted or anything and having fired my first military caliber shots at the army, it never ceased to amaze me how accurate the weapon was even at longer distances.
