Alright, so I thought Steve58 started a thread like this, but I can't find it so here goes. (If I find Steve's thread (did I dream it?) I'll merge them).
I watch a lot of YouTube, and I'm consistently amazed at the interesting stuff you can find on there. So, with no rules at all other than it has to be interesting, I figured I'd start a thread to consolidate some of our Groghead findings.
Except for these rules:
1. No overt politics.
2. No overt religion.
Otherwise, show us those unusual videos you've found.
This one, to start it off, I found from a link on Yahoo's homepage. This knucklehead has a whole channel of this nonsense, and once you watch one, it's hard to stop. Kinda like a Lay's potato chip.
I saw that vid. I watch a lot of YouTube too. Some crazy shit out there.
People doing amazing shit and hot chicks. What's not to like?
a bad ass old organ
Restoring ...
Making ...
Fascinating...
I read a book by the same title, with Werner Goldberg depicted on the cover. That a "Mischling" would be used by the Nazis as an exemplar of the ideal in German and Aryan soldiery is proof, in my opinion, that the universe has a very cruel and peculiar sense of humor.
This song has got way more history than I ever realized...
And of course I have to include the Animals' version.
^One of my favorite songs of all time! The 'video' of the Animals is creepy as hell. Can't put my finger on why. It's always made me edgy. Maybe its because all the band members are staring directly into the camera. I dunno...

You know...you actually look a little like Eric Burdon.
I...I never thought of that. This is getting to be a little more creepy than my usual Wednesday. Must look closer.
Holy f*ck I do look like him! It always bothered me that the drummer didn't spit his gum out too. You're being filmed, man!! Come on.
If I were 25 in 1964 The Animals would have been one of my favorite bands, no doubt. Very modern and ahead of their time.
I had a buddy who did Karaoke at a local bar way back and when I got off work I'd drop by. He knew I loved that song and always spotted me when I walked in and drug me up on stage to sing it with him. It's a tough song to sing sober I can tell you. After a couple of shots, it gets a lot easier, and funnier. O0
Got video?
No video Gus. That was so long ago there maybe some clay tablets it's recorded on though. The local bar was much more of a Country & Western type place so we had to add a line about a truck or a dog to keep from having to run for the door. ;D
:-[
You gotta stick with this one a bit, but at the end when you see the pictures this guy comes up with, it's pretty amazing.
I went to his site a while back to buy one, but....they are not cheap.
This is also a really good underwater video.

:o
a visual representation of arguing with the wife.
Alright, you gotta stick with this one for a little while. But if you're willing to watch it through I think you're going to end up really, really impressed by this guy's ingenuity. At about 3:30 he starts getting interviewed and discusses his whole system of self-sufficiency.
Imagine what he must smell like. :o
Well he has a pretty slick shower setup that he says he uses everyday, but...I still don't think I'd be too keen to snuggle with him.
Fascinating video. He pretty much has figured out a way to beat the system.
This is the best version of this video I've found on YouTube.
(Note: F-4 Blue Angels video, not F/A-18s in the picture)
So, for background, my dad introduced me to this video like 30 years ago. I used to have it on VHS (for the youngsters, look it up).
It's a fantastic, old skool video of the ultimate F-4 flying for the Blue Angels. Pro move: skip ahead about 10 minutes and get to the video; skip to about 15 minutes to get straight to the first airshow.
And 1:39:50 to see what happens when it's fucked up.
I've never seen a video quite like this one. It puts humanity in perspective.
Spoiler alert: we all die in the end.
But...it's totally worthy of a full watch.
Edit: the author puts the history of the Earth from its beginning to its eventual end into a one-year calendar. In that time frame, we are literally a blink of an eye; from the start of humans to our (projected) destruction is seconds, within the context of a year's life of the Earth. I was fascinated throughout.
This guy might be the most amazing guitar player I've ever seen. The compositions and harmonics are wild. Rare talent.
I don't know how long this link will work, but as of now (1700 Pacific Time) it's up. Basically it's a livestream from the Volcom team house facing Pipeline in Hawaii. If you've never seen Pipe, it's ridiculously easy to paddle out to even when the surf is big like it is today. The rip will drag you straight out with only a little effort.
I surfed Pipe a handful of times when I lived out there, although only at about head high; nothing like the size it is on the livestream. I fell on one wave, maybe chest-head high so not even "real" pipe and hit the reef so hard on my ass that my entire butt cheek and back of my thigh turned a deep purple for about a week. That was enough for me, there are more sensible places to surf on the North Shore! My favorite break was Gas Chambers, which is about 200 yards to the right if you're looking at the surf from the beach. 90% of the fun with 10% of the crowds and danger.
Anyway, enjoy!
This seems like a good thread for this. Leo 2A6 towing the King Tiger into Armour Museum. Man, that thing is HUGE! Leo 2A6, that is. And King Tiger is even bigger :notworthy:
Armored Bde the Leo belongs to has Leo 1 based ARVs. Given they are a bit stretched with 60+ ton 2A6 variants already, I was wondering if they did not even bother with a 70+ ton Tiger VIB?
I wonder how long it will be before "Military History Visualized" will be visiting the museum!

Mecha-alpaca-zilla!
Everybody knows Alpacas are for making rugs not sausages.
Arguably the most bad-ass line in any Godzilla film!
Now this is pod racing...
Akbar says, 'This could be a trap', but doesn't he always?
Well how about this then Boss Hogg?
That's still better than the last trilogy. I'd pay to see Leia in Daisy Dukes.

Me too!
When Exterminatus is the only waySomething about this short little video just rings right with me...
Just caught this in my feed. This is pretty cool, and I think will appeal to quite a few of the GH team!
Edit: A couple of things that caught my attention - first, I think these guys are contractor Aggressors, not USAF. I didn't figure that out until the end, but some of the comments led me to think that. The pilot has some sort of minor emergency and handles it with nonchalance; guessing a popped circuit breaker? Very interesting discussion of the modifications to his F-16; apparently it has a whole new avionics suite that allows it to simulate any Russian or Chinese fighter. Finally, the fights are very, very short, which is probably very realistic.
And lastly, as a non-fighter guy, I was surprised to hear him applying throttle in the break. I always thought the break was to bleed off speed, but I guess in this case either the jet bleeds speed too quickly, or the break was too far out and so he needed to keep speed on.
It's an interesting video; I think you guys will enjoy it.
I don't speak Hindi but this guy did an excellent job explaining how to change the temporary storage location for files being unzipped, downloaded, etc., on your hard drive.
I must have wasted 15 minutes of my precious time reading english language explanations on google/reddit and couldn't find a thing that clearly and concisely explained what I needed in way I could understand.
Turns out I needed to find my answer through a language I don't understand! And my problem was solved in less than 3 minutes. Now I can go back to gaming.
Ok do you all agree with having the white light go off when you pull the trigger?
no, I would think the strobe effect would be counter productive.
So have we had a compilation video of THE RACOON FEDERATION!?
....idk, I'm too lazy to search. But there are more of these somewhere.

^No doubt. AI is scary in what it can do.
For you Lego enthusiasts.
I found quite interesting the videos of a man who teaches you what a boy should learn from a father. It's called
Dad, how do I?
