Wargames Illustrated is a part of the Battlefront family of companies and the world's premier tabletop gaming magazine. Its continued expansion and future aspirations have provided us with the opportunity to offer a position as SUB-EDITOR at our studio in Nottingham, England.

This position presents the successful candidate with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the wargaming hobby and share their passion with gamers from around the world.

The successful candidate will possess the following skills:

- An in-depth knowledge of the wargaming hobby.
- A broad knowledge of military history.
- A high standard of English literacy and articulation.
- A keen eye for detail, and proofreading skills.
- Be able to write entertaining and informative articles, reports and reviews.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Computer literacy.
- An 'on-screen' willingness and presence in front of camera (for digital projects).
- The ability to work to tight deadlines.

Candidates should have experience of working as part of a team, be prepared to work outside of standard office hours when required and relish the opportunity to work on Wargame Illustrated's multi-media/digital projects.

The following skills would also be advantageous in the role:

- Miniatures photography
- A working knowledge of Adobe software (Photoshop, InDesign etc.)
- A working knowledge of Apple Mac computers
- A familiarity with the use of social media for business

Experience of working in publishing would also be an advantage.

Although based in Beeston, Nottingham, some travelling/driving will be required.

Too bad they're not looking for part-time freelancers. I have all of these skills but can't move to England and already have a decent full-time job.
