Thanks for the great post, destraex. I am replaying UAG:CW and loving it.

I happen to also be playing TW Rome 2 for the first time, and it is an excellent game with fun battles but going back and forth between the two as I did this weekend clarifies the superiority of UG's tactical battles.

Did this event actually happen? Curious to see if the game allows for ahistorical events or just historical ones.

^it is a little more complicated, but yes, Lord Dunmore's Proclamation was a thing.

It actually has parallels to Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation which came some 88 years later.

Are we allowed to launch boarding raids 10 or 15 miles deep into Great Britain in an effort to kidnap one or more English nobles of very minor lineage?

While he had a great penchant for drama, it's unclear whether or not John Paul Jones was really playing with a full deck.

Technically you would think that the USA would be able to try to invade or blockade England. 🤣

A more devastating attack would be to blow-up all their Umbrella Factories. No Englishman would ever be able to go out in public again.  :hideunderbed:

Most indecent of you old boy. Positively unsanctimonious. Next you'll be after the belt factories!

I agree. Belts and umbrellas should be out of bounds.  :nono2:

British campaign available, however the patch notes say they are still working on the "full" british campaign.

@Jarhead.... you're inner Monarchist can now be revealed. You know that common folk voting is a sham... embrace the King and your country! However be aware that the Seven Years War is the priority, not North America. We cannot send much to help. Mel Gibson is not taking our calls and I have lost my two dogs in transit somewhere.

Started the British campaign just to get aquanted with how it will play out. But my first screenshot is to show in the U.S. campaign that one of my staff officers is called "lifeless toaster" which is a backers name. Pretty ridiculous.

Now. I first had to sail to shore while all these disturbing events beyond my control were happening. Once ashore I went back to the British map to raise more forces and set them on their way. This fleet will take 32 days to reach the Americas and cost me 1/3rd of my money.. but that may have something to do with me taking all the ships available that cost 1000 or so a day to maintain. Have not yet looked into how many men fit on each ship. That's for later.

The full map is now revealed as their is no gradual unlocking of regions like in the initial US campaign. The map seems rather huge. But only covers one side of the states. Historical perhaps but some people wanted the whole of America available to play on.

It looks like it will be a great adventure. But for the British it cannot be assumed either that you have unlimited men and weapon stocks. I cannot raise a "new" dragoon regiment in Britain for instance because their are not enough cavalry carbines available.

The infamous toaster 2nd from the left.

The British campaign shots. Apparently I am made up to Governor while out of contact and news reaches me as I head for the coastline.

I'm curious how the battle system has been adapted for the period.  Are the forces much smaller than ACW, and are the casualties realistic?  It just wasn't a particularly bloody war like the ACW.

I think I worked for, 'Lifeless Toaster' at one point in my career as well as his siblings, 'Overly Critical Can-Opener' and, 'Micromanagement Waffle Iron'.
