I see that this will be moving the JL movie ahead in the queue. Not at all sure how I feel about that.  :-\ I don't have much confidence in the franchise project as a whole anymore, or in its constituent parts, regardless of how great Wonder Woman looks.

Is it because they left out Marvin, Wendy and Wonder Dog?

It's probably better overall for the Batman movie and for the franchise in general. It seems like too much to have one person starring and directing on a movie of that scale. DC needs a slam dunk from the Batman movie.

Also, Batman Beyond is the obvious answer to everyone's Batfleck problems, considering his lack of Batfamily options established so far.

I'm not unhappy if this is true. (...uh, mirth's post, not Gus'.) He was very much the best part of BvS (aside from "Maaaarrthhhaaa"), and looks like he's having a lot of dry fun in the JL commercials.

He just looks emotionally destroyed in promotional interviews.

He does look wiped. Not sure if that's from the movie pressure or his personal life.

I'd like to see him stay in the role for a while. He was good in Batman v Superman, convincing as both Batman and an older, world-weary Bruce Wayne.

The Martha thing was dumb, but hardly the biggest problem with BvS.

Kind of ruined by Bale's dopey mouth expressions, so roundly and deservedy mocked by all the internet -- even without his cancer gargle. ;)

Also, legitimately done before! -- Warner Brothers, much as they did before releasing parts 2 and 3 of the Matrix trilogy, commissioned a number of famous anime houses to create a set of anime shorts set between Begins and TDK. I wasn't super fond of most of them, but when Warner Brothers heard that fans didn't want to hear Bale's garglemouth -- even though (according to the story) he had already dubbed all the shorts -- they got Conroy to come in and play the Nolan Batman.

The Telltale Batman game is on sale for $8.74 right now over on GOG. Is it worth it?

The first one? Yes if:

1.) You can put up with the game being a cinematic adventure, with occasional quick-time events (not usually fatal), instead of being like the Arkham games.

and

2.) You're okay with some pretty strong changes to the lore.

also

3.) You're okay with a quite hard-R Batman 'film'. And don't expect much from the Joker (yet).

Warner Brothers gives up trying to make good DCEU cinematic universe movies, decides to start making totally standalone DC films again, starting with The Batman -- and then a Joker / Harley origin film.

Because surely that was the problem all along.  ::) :P

Potentially three Batmen and three Jokers in, what, five years? Not counting TDK from Nolan's trilogy. Also not counting the Gotham City Sirens film still in planning, presumably including Leto and Robbie from SuiSquad.

The Joker/Harley origin film will be directed by the pair behind the Cats and Dogs duology. But Scorsese might be producing.

WB really knows how not to universe build  :uglystupid2:

They need to give the whole thing to Joss Whedon for 3-5 years. Not for directing everything, but for overall creative direction.
