Playing through Dishonored 2 right now (it's clicked with me after a slow start), I harken back to steampunk classics that I have loved forever: Thief, Arcanum, Guns of Icarus and others. I always wonder 'what have I missed' so I come to you to fill in the blanks for me. Of course any newly released steampunk is always welcome - any genre will do 😎
I remember the old adventure game Blade runner was good.
Path of Neo (the Matrix) was fantastic if you were a matrix fan, but the first level was awfull
I think blade runner is steampunk, maybe matrix is a futuristic scifi, is steampunk have to have steam powered machines? anyway play path of Neo you wont care what genra it is
Blade Runner is steampunk?
Anyway, try Clockwork Empires, Airship Dragoon, Warmachine: Tactics and Acaratus.
Blade Runner is Future Noir. Let's not mix genres :P

are you insulting my USB flash drive, that was in fifth element too
Come on now...Blade Runner basically created cyberpunk along with Neuromancer. My last check of Clockwork Empires found that it was kinda sorta unfinished. Will check out Airship Dragoon and Warmachine Tactics and Acaratus...whatever the hell that is. Thanks JH.
Path of Neo!! Mother of all creatures great and small!
Blade Runner was not cyber punk!!!

I loved that flash drive! Better actor than Bruce Willis!
How is Blade Runner not cyberpunk??
Acaratus looks to be the best out of the ones JH named above.

Unbunch your panties, CyberPrincesses.
^Cyberknave!
And thank you for the additional games spelk! I didn't think The Order 1886 was available for PC...
...dammit 'Playstation Only'
Keeping in line with the 'Iron' theme... what about Iron Storm (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Storm_(video_game))?
Tron was the first real Cyber-punk film
Valkyria Chronicles (though it has magic and was originally a console game)
Airship Dragoon
Iron Storm...holy moly there's a blast from the past. Valkyria Chronicles looks strangely intriguing...
...just patched up Arcanum and installed some hi-res graphics mods too.
Valkyria Chronicles is VERY "Japanese" in terms of the stereotypes you can expect.
Guys yell (and think about the greater questions in life), are gay, or both. Women are about as unnatural as you can imagine and, for a game where the only way to win is to shoot people in the face from a close distance, it's surprisingly anti-militaristic.
That's a real Japanese paradox: they like games where you shoot stuff, but don't like any militarism. The most militaristic characters are the bad guys (often with vaguely Latin names and Roman Imperial titles for unclear reasons).
The Iron Grip games are not bad, provided you don't expect them to meet the standards of premium FPS's.

I've had trouble getting the iron grip games to run on modern systems. Never tried on a win10 machine.
Come to think of it, ValkChron does count as very late Steampunk, circa WW1. (With some WW2 for flavor.)
Anime makes me question everything I thought I knew.

Last time I played Warlord was on an XP machine several years ago, so I don't have any experience with getting it to run on a more recent version of Windows.
Surprised no-one has mentioned Diluvion, a steampunk submarine game. I think its on sale (Steam) at the moment.
Thanks.
I got Steam World Heist the other day for my son. That is a turn based robot steam punk world a bit like XCOM in combat execution. It seems a lot of fun and my son really likes it. O0
I will check it out, thanks Boggit.
