Looking to lure tourists, a Slovenia town is creating an attraction that will be every drinker's dream – a public beer fountain.

The project in Zalec, which is known for its hop plantations, is expected to cost $400,000 and is being billed the first of its kind in Europe.

Thirsty visitors will try a variety of Slovenian beers on offer, and pay six euros (about $7) for three 10.5 fl oz glasses served in a commemorative mug, Slovenia's Dnevnik news website reports.

Good idea! Limassol/Lemesos in Cyprus will do it's 51st wine festival in September this year. http://in-cyprus.com/limassol-wine-festival/ IIRC, the wine used to be free to visitors, but there seems to be a charge for containers and the like now.

They had some tap-at-your-table bars when I worked in Korea.  It was kind of odd as the only staff member I saw sat in a glassed off kiosk not unlike a ticket booth at a cinema.  You'd go up and grab a pitcher and glasses from a container against the wall then sit at your table and drink away.  Each table had a spigot built in and it would should the total cost of what you drank as well as the cc's.  You'd just pay up at the end of your session.  They also had a popcorn machine in the corner should you wish to have some stale, salty snacks with your beer.  We'd go there fairly regularly until we were banned.  Apparently lying down on the table and funnelling beer straight into your mouth hole is frowned upon.
